Are you freaking kidding me?  Out of all the Asinine things.   What Iran has done is an act of war.  The US & England really needs to start playing by Iran's rules and wipe them off the face of the Earth.

Looky here ladies - you guys would do the exact same fucking thing yourselves - in fact there is one instance where you did: five Cuban-Americans were tried and imprisoned for varying draconian prison terms for anti-terrorism espionage for the Cuban government in Florida and Chicago.

Are GPS co-ordinates of where the incident took place floating around?  If so, then working out who is at fault should be a simple matter.

If they turn out to be Iraqi waters, I'm sure Ahmadinejad would say something like "They're lying, it's all a zionist conspiracy"!

So they were snagged inside our country?  Entirely different then.  The Brits were taken from Iraqi waters, not Iranian.  So supposedly having peaceful nuclear aspirations, they seem to be quite willing to pick a fight.

They admitted publicly that they were in Iranian waters under no direst, that is why they surrendered without a fight, there is no discussion other than what Iran wants to do now.

They freely admitted something while in Iranian hands?? I would lol if the situation weren't so dangerous. The Iranians are capable of doing extremely nasty things to the people they hold. If they captured me I'd immediately start telling them how cool all the ayatollahs look with their beards and black robes and stuff...

The UK has eyewitness testimony that they were not in Iranian waters:

Your link says they confessed, ask yourself why would they surrender if they were in the right?

I'm tired of all this saber rattling, it's no big deal this stuff happens all they time & is resolved peacefully.

day 1 - lots of big aircraft going in and out of local airstrip, where they refit the insides of Hercules
day 2 - lots of big aircraft - one of which was definately a Hercules - going in and out of local airstrip, where they refit the insides of Hercules
day 3 - 15 British sailors and marines arrested by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards off the coast of Iraq.

coincidence?

Actually, if they were in Iranian waters, the Brits committed an act of war, technically.

That may be true, but Iran should know better than to pull this.  It looks like war really is ahead.

The only reason I knew about this was from my visit to Cuba - it's a big deal over there.

An act which can be reasonably construed as hostile, providing justification for declaration of war.

There's a big difference between Cubans in America doing surveillance on anti-Castro resistance groups and British sailors checking for smugglers in Iraqi waters.

The question being 'were they really in Iraqi waters?' - which boils down to 'who do you believe?', neither party being particularly trustworthy.

You actually think Britian would be confused as to where her soldiers were?

As far as the US and Britian goes, there is no need to lie about a reason to go to war, we have that already. We are not in open warfare with Iran, I guess because we are stretched thin. But the justifications are there.

This is me in about twenty minutes. Later!

(a) The article says Iran said they confessed. Iran's word doesn't mean much in this situation because it can't be verified.
(b) The UK sailors & marines would surrender if they were in puny little RIBs and the Iranians pointed really big guns at them. Are you joking?
