Is only the basic Spec Ops gun the Carbine ? All other unlocks are Assault rifles right ?
I mean Scarl and G36C are Assault rifles right ?
Im just confused coz some people said that all Spec Ops guns are Carbines.

All Medic and Assault weapons are assault rifles. All Spec Op weapons are carbines.

I wish that the g3ak4 was a spec ops unlock instead of the scar-L. Man imagine a portable g3 with the same stopping power and accuracy.

The difference? Calibre and accuracy. Carbines have a smaller calibre and greater accuracy. Generally smaller, lighter etc.

Actually, that's wrong. In reality, carbines are less accurate, and are meant to be used in close quarters (hence their shortened barrels). Of course, in BF2, things just have to be balanced.

No, it's just easier to aim with the M4, AK-74U, and SCAR-L. The most accurate carbines are the G36C and QBZ-97. Once again, they took out scopes and used iron sights to make the game balanced.

No, IRL the G36C is a carbine, but the SCAR-L is an assault rifle. The G36K on the other hand is an AR (probably what you were thinking of).

Carbines have smaller calibers, and shorter barrels. They are generally more compact. The G36E Is actually just a G36. The G36C stands for "Compact" or "Commando" Ak-74u <<< the "u" is russian for "shortened". The M4 is a carbine, and the M4A1 is an assault rifle.

Carbines are also less acurate due to the shorter barrel. Long barrel = more accuracy

The "E" in G36E stands for "Export".
As for the M4 and M4A1, they are both carbines. The M4A1 is an updated M4 with the option of fully automatic instead of a 3 round burst like the M4 and M16
