I have Comcast cable. Recently, I'm starting to have a connection problem. When surfing the web, it would work normally then stop working for a while then work again. At first I thought that this was a virus problem. But then, when I'm not using IE, such as playing BF2, it would lag and lose connection. So this is an internet problem right? The only thing is, my laptop's wireless connection is fine. What's wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Check your physical connections, might be obvious but you'd be suprised how many overlook that.  I too have comcast, did you install it your self?  We did and ran into issues like that, wont go into them unless you did.  As for wireless working fine, try reseting your modem, might help, might not.

I installed it myself. I tried unplugging the modem and wireless router and leaving it out for 15 minutes. Replugged it, still the same problem.

Make sure(cant stress it enough) the the line that goes to to your modem is split directly from the main line.  You should have your main line split into 2 line, one for tvs and one for the modem.  You can split off the tv line later on.

Okay, will do. So this is definitely not a virus?

I highly doubt it, if it was, what little access you would have would result in popups, attempts to download crap etc.  When I had my internet set up like that, I was fine for a few months, then it just died, no idea how to get it back, till the guy from comcast came out and explained it to us
