Rule #1: Move.

If you are moving, you are harder to hit. This applies to footwork as well as vehicles. This applies when you are getting shot at by something with wheels, feet, or wings. The only time you should stop is when you are carefully aiming or doing something other than staring at the pretty clouds; or if you are hiding. If you are hiding, then stop moving, or they will see you. If you are in a tank, you cannot hide. Especially if you are taking a flag.

Rule #2: See them first!

If you see them first, you have options. You can run if you dont want to fight, you can fight if you dont think you can run. If you cant run, you can hide and then ambush. Pay attention to you surroundings, and look around alot. When you are running to a point, look around and find the places that you would most like to shoot at yourself from. That window over there? That silo over there? Also, pay attention to roads, walkways, and flag points. Always assume that somebody is watching you; be parinoid.

Rule #3: Dont be caught in the open.

If you are on foot, and you are in the open, you are a target. Sprint from cover to cover. Use concealment if there is no cover. If you are a tank, and in the open, you are choper/jet fodder (fodder is food. they *will* eat you.). Use as many buildings and foliage as you can to stay covered/concealed/camoflaged.

Rule #4: Reload often!

If you are out of ammunition, then you will hide and ask for more. If you are out of ammunition and in a gunfight, you will be a target.

Rule #5: Look Up!

What does a 2000lbs bomb, a 1.62 inch rocket, a sniper, a vantage/scout/sniper point, and the uphill advantage all have in common! They kill you. That and they are usually found above you.

Rule #6: Know when to run; know when to hide.

If you cant beat them, run away. If you cant run away far enough, fast enough, hide. If you have ran away, and they are chasing you, hide, and ambush them. If you cant ambush them, then hopefully they wont see you.

Rule #7: Be a good shot

If you kill them, they cannot kill you.

Rule #8: Never bring a pistol to a tank battle.

Armor is scary, run away. Unless you can kill it. Then kill it, because not everybody can. This applies pretty much to anything bigger/stronger/meaner than you are.

Rule #9: Speed is of the essense.

Speed is the soldiers greatest asset; Sun Tzu said that, and he knew his shit. Speed can replace anything else. If you are fast and mobile, you can pretty much kill anything, and if you cant kill it you can run away.

Rule #10: Support is your best friend.

Medics, Support, Engineers are your best friends. Dont piss them off. In fact, do what you can to make them like you, if they like you, they are more likely to help you.

Also, dont punish when the guy doesnt deserve it, and dont Exploit the game, or you will die. and i dont mean your avatar will die, i mean you.

Sound advice. Unfortunately I'm guilty 1,2 and 6 and my stats pretty much reflect that. But, practice makes perfect, and I don't mean dieing.

No offense, and not that your advice isn't sound, but I'd be more likely to take it from someone with a higher k/d ratio.  I want to know how some of these guys have k/d's over 3.  Are they jet pilots only or what?

Never heard of a 1.62 inch rocket...  Lots of 2.75 inch rockets in the world though...

When we get to the point where we're talking about inches, bad jokes are sure to follow.

Like your penis.

See?

I didn't mean that by the way, it was just a demonstration.

Hmm. Ya know, I don't think this is gonna get stickied... don't get me wrong, there are some things everyone should know, there are things missing, but the downfall of this is poor sentence structure, typos, and of course the fact that you're not the most experienced player.

One thing to contradict, looking up, only a good idea while on the ground if you hear the crack of a sniper rifle and a bullet hit your feet. Then, either run away if you have a shotgun or take cover and return fire. Otherwise seeing the arty coming down on you isn't going to matter...
Which brings up artillery. As infantry you should be focusing on capping flags and killing anyone who tries to stop you. Unfortunately, you can't kill arty, so be aware of you're surroundings. If you're capping a flag with a couple other ppl, more or less, you should take cover inside a building withing flag cap range if possible. Otherwise stand at the edge of the flag cap range, as soon as you cap the flag, sprint away. I can't tell ya how many times I've saved myself this way while watching countless noobs standing around suddenly become human fireworks.

Anyway, grease this guide up, ask for more content but definately don't call it a final draft.
