Some kids are like that, I'm not one of them.  My parents would hate it if I cuss.  Plus what is there to scream about? It's just a stupid game!

I don't have an opinion on player ages.... EXCEPT that I can't stand it when I'm a squad leader and some commander is barking at me... in some pre-pubescent micky mouse voice. thats the only thing that annoys me

Frankly, I'm in University now and only now re-discovering the countless game hours I've lost to booze, sex, and general partying.

Mostly because I've been sick lately.

I frankly believe that preteens are at the height of their gaming abilities.

Observe: I was playing CS from 12-6 AM every night (morning?) when I was in middle school, when I wasn't out at a friend's or bogged down with exams.

Correction: Even when I was bogged down with exams.

My kill ratio on the server I played on (and eventually administrated on) was about 5:1 - 6:1. At that time, a child's responses have matured, their reactions are lightning fast, and they don't get tired.

Hell, I used to sleep 3 hours a night. Come home from friend's, maybe read a book, laugh at the homework, and play video games. Or play video games while a friend was over, or at my friends'. As you get past that age of puberty, though, your responses slow, you don't have that kind of energy, and I'll be damned if you have time to play video games all the time.

Many of the guys and gals I played back then with were in the twenties or thirties. None of them were as fast as I, nor had the competitive spirit. You think you do... but I mean, kids are competitive. They want to be good at everything they do... be it video games, drinking booze someone stole from their parents, tag, writing, math, whatever.

I really, really don't think I could even claim anywhere near that now. I'm bloody apathetic, I play video games to pass the time when I'm too sick to drink. I drink, party, write, draw and sleep when I can't be bothered to work. I work when I can't be bothered to clean the apartment.

It's just the way the world works.

Oh yeah, if you see someone with the tag G33Z3R in their name, it's either me or a buddy of mine. Say hi.

I don't care how young or old players are, you'll all get arthritis in your fingers one day

@dub_deuces , no need to leave the sever because of an idiot, just turn him off

I've yet to use voip, so that's another daunting forray into the world of the unknown, or smacktards as you call them. If i'm in a squad, I just follow on with the group, do the back up thing, support, help and defend my team.... works well for me.

NOBODY has wrinkles on the Internet (even if they look like a prune in real life)!

I will keep an eye out for you then. I am in the same situaion i think. used to play games all the time when i was young, and now i am only rediscovering the addiciton through playing BF2.
And again, when i was young i can remember staying up for hours and hours without food and sleep, whereas now my bum hurts after playing for an hour!!

I will keep a look out for you. i am the_Dude_5b ingame

I dont think age matters, dont ever ask for ages when playing. i do get the occasional high pitched, squeeky voice kid annoying everyone, but usually they dont keep it up for long or get kicked.

I have joined into squads at times when the other players seem to be about the same age as me, and are communicating well. But i, for some reason, usually get moved to the other team by the server! and then i get stuck in a team where no one is working together!

While it's true that you will find knuckleheads at all ages, it's also true that you will find MORE at the younger ages.  More of the youngsters haven't matured yet.  Just like you can find heavy smokers that don't have lung cancer but you will find MORE heavy smokers with lung cancer than non-smokers.

I´m 16 years old and i don´t really think that the age have some importance in this and also in other online games...Sure there are sometimes kiddis TKíng and trying to feel better doing that kind of shit, but most of the young gamer know how to play in a team and i´m proud of that.

But well if a 10-years old kid plays a game like Battlefield it´s only the parents guilt and in that case i would understand if that boy plays like a fucking n00b and kill teammates. Its just normal at that age.

^^

I'd have to agree with the general sentiment about one's "gaming prime".  I'd say the prime gaming years are from about 9-15.  That's when the reflexes and hand-eye co-ordination seem to be at their best.

The challenge for us folks that aren't "young bucks" anymore is to fight smarter instead of quicker.  I liken it to a pitcher that's lost a few MPH on his fastball and now has to paint the corners of the plate with his pitches rather than throw heat right down the middle of the plate.

I am 15.

I won every Match as Commander till now and love to play tactical in a squad.

I often realize that the younger Players have more coordination and better tactics than older ones.

But some players out of there are really kiddies. And most of them are from 18 to 25 years old.....

I don't think that age is really that big a factor.  I've seen some older people turn around and kick some serious ass in game.  I've seen some younger people suck badly.

For the record, I'm 21, and don't play as often as some people do, generally because of classes and everything.  I'll average a few hours a week or more, depending on my workload.

What irks me the most isn't really age, it's lack of respect from squad members.  I've played as Squad Leader and Commander, and had several games where people just won't listen to my commands.  I order my squad to hit a point and instead they wander around.  I order a squad to defend a point and instead they choose to go do their own thing.

If nothing else, age isn't as important as a person's mental mindset in the game.  If you're a true team player, we'll get along fine.  If you're just in it to rack up your score... well... we're gonna have problems then. LOL

From my experience the most moronic people in bf2 are located in the age of 30-50.

Cool beans.

I hear you on only playing an hour now and having your bum hurt. Usually I get off my arse and go for a bike ride or something when that happens (oh hey the crane across the street is turning... without... purpose. It's just been spinning around and around for the last few minutes... oh there it stopped) but now that Canadian winter is starting to hit biking is a matter of freezing my fingers off.

So I kinda just go lie in bed. Sometimes with class readings. Usually to sleep off the drinking and such.
