Seriously, that's one of the first things I learned in IT. Back it up before you floppy it.
'Course, then floppies were superceded by Zip disks, CDRWs, and then Flash storage. And then the price plummeted. I have 128mb, 512, and 1gig drives. £35, £30, and £18, respectively.

mine still has water in it from when i did it over a year ago, it still works

Put it in a jar of rice for 2 days (with the lid off the memory stick) and then try it
