Which mod should I go for?

OK, up to now I have not bothered with any mods, so which mod should I go for and why.

Try and convince me to go for a certain one.

I say one and only one because I cant be arsed to sit downloading all night with my shitty 1 Meg connection (which gets upgraded to 6.5 Meg later this week, so I might download the rest then)

Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.

PR is the best in my opinion. DCon i find to be just hectic regular BF2. I didnt feel that impressed as i did with PR.

Comparing PR and POE2, I would go with POE2. Simply because its a lot more easy to get use to. I think IMO that PR has too much reality, it can take away some of the fun.

I haven't tried Desert Conflict (getting it for tonight) but between POE2 and Project Reality I'd pick Project Reality any day.

My reason? POE2 has no servers!!!

Project Reality is a different experience. It's great if you can get on a good squad that follows orders.

Sandbox is another one, but it's mainly for just messing around. But it's still fun, especially on multiplayer so you can see what others are creating/show off what you can make. That's the only mod I've played so far, so I'm interested in how this poll turns out as well. btw I null voted

Depends on what your looking for in your game. PR offers a hyper realistic military game, it is much differnet than bf2 and poe2 and has a steep learning curve. PR features great sound effects, superb mapping, and good teamwork. It got my vote

On the other hand POE2 is more in the vein of bf2. You will defineatly have a smoother transition into POE2. All of the vehicles handle extremely well (especially the jets) and the mapping and models are excellent. POE2 lacks server support, you will be hard pressed to find a server that runs it located in the US. Europeans really like this mod so from what i noticed most servers are in Europe.

I have only played Dcon for about ten minutes. I wasnt impressed so i wont go into detail.

dcon is like nothin' really new, if you played dcom.
it depends on what r u lookin' for. if you like the acarde mode of bf2 stick to poe.
if you like it more realistic, and more teamplay then definately pr!
my vote goes for pr.

Thanks for the input so far guys. Project Reality sounds like it appeals to me so far but where the hell can I download it without problems?? Whenever I go to the official site and find a suitable mirror I keep getting this error a few seconds into the download:

PR. Its all about teamwork and thrilling realistic game play...though not so realistic that you get bored. You'll really suck at first cause the learning curve is a bit steep in terms of learning about kits/rally points/etc but once you get a hang of its the experience is very rewarding.

If your going to download it you will probably want to utilize the torrent option. Bit torrent requires you have a bit torrent client like bitlord, bitcomet, azereus, utorrent etc. Anyone of these will do. I have used Bit Comet and Utorrent and i recommned Bitcomet because of its user friendlyness. Once you have the torrent client installed download the torrent link from the PR site. Its much faster method of getting the game and Bit torrent will open up a new world of file sharing for you.

Well ive decided to download Project Reality. I now have a four hour torrent download on the go (I cant wait for my internet speed upgrade later this week)

and I completely agree with this.

Sandbox is great. Small download, so you won't have to eat up your harddrive or spend hours downloading.

After over 3 hours of DC yesterday, it doesn't compete, however I haven't played with a great squad in PR. I think that would make a huge difference.
