I just got this message today and it happened after i installed medieval 2.
That'd usually a RAM or a Driver issue. Run Memtest98 on it and verify that your drivers are up to date.

Well its just total BS, last week it was still working fine, i didnt do any updates to drivers etc.
Test your RAM bro, let it run for a couple hours. Maybe you need to run chkdsk -f on your HD? Malware? Could be a lot of things. Try the basics and let us know if anything helps.

Recent MS Patch to fix Animated cursor exploit.
The patch they released has already been found to break a lot of software that uses animated cursors... kinda like games and stuff.
Could very well be the problem. Patch came out yesterday btw.

Ok i know what the problem is right now, One of my other apps also have this memory crap and conicidentally, AVG picked up a trojan horse in system restore. How do i rid of the horse?
avg should delete it or give you the path to where it is and you can manually delete it. if not, reinstall windows. it only takes an hour...
Erm it somehow removed the file and placed it in the virus vault or something. So i should go manually delete it? Hmm, just delete and empty recycle bin?
Once its in the vault its inert (won't do anything). Its safe in there but if your want you can delete it.
The Vault's just a backup for 'Silly AVG, EXEs are for Office!'
Do a scan and get it all clean, once that's done, turn System Restore 'off and on again' (System Properties). That makes it get rid of all the old Restore Points (waste of space), and makes a new one.
An AVG Antispyware scan couldn't hurt, either.
Oh and Tower Defence FTW!
