I've got a Saitek Cyborg evo, it's a good stick, loads of buttons and I've never had a problem with it.

Go for Logitech if you want good button placement and comfort.
Go for Saitek if you want something that will actually last..
I've owned both.
The Logitech was alot more comfortable and the base is also alot heavier and wider which is good if you want to play with your joystick in your lap (not like that you sick fuck). I had no problem setting it up and using it with BF2.
I currently use a Saitek X52 Joystick now since my 3D pro broke, I got it at like Half Price, and there were no other good joysticks around my area that I could buy. I have to use a hard cover book in my lap to keep it stable, it comes with suction cups and bolts to bolt it down, but I'm not that hardcore. I also had conflicts when trying to set it up with BF2, some of the buttons were repeating so I couldn't use some. I'm still looking for a Profile for it. The control with the X52 is pretty decent, and the throttle makes flying a jet that much more realistic.
And once you buy a Joystick, don't expect immediate results. It took me couple weeks of crashing into trees before I was good enough at flying that I could actually start killing people.
Over-all, If I had the choice again, I'd go for the Logitech, even if you have to replace it after a while.

I have one of those. Mine is like 8 years old now. Still works perfectly. That's what I call qualityFredFLQ wrote:

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
