Read Cougar's OP and then get to the apathetic portion/discourse. There's a difference and different level of personal respect for: a type. He's vilifying a certain type of Atheist - he thinks he's identified as a type.

I did read it, but couldn't really think of much else to say. I did skip most of the thread though. I couldn't be bothered getting all worked up about it. i'm going to leave my response as it was.

Ron Paul somehow became a poster child for: the desire for change. How small movements in mass-psychology start or acquire inertia that's a a bit of a mystery. I don't identify with Ron Paul, but I do empathize with the desire for change.

If you think Atheists are idiots because they dont believe what you believe. that makes you an idiot. Just because ppl decide to not follow some book written ages ago about some guy that could do magic tricks doesnt make them stupid. I mean sure, if sum asshole is sitting on a soapbox screaming God isnt real, then yea, he is a full fledged idiot, because ppl were raised and have spent most of their lives praising/worshipping him. I happen to be an atheist and I have NEVER, not even once, tried to convince someone to not believe in what they believe. Thats not my style, i respect your beliefs and will not argue.

However, I have been called an idiot before because d-bag found out i was atheist(almost started a 10 person riot) and i told him what i believe and after about 20 minutes of yelling(mostly on his part) he finally realized i had the right to believe(or not) in whatever the fuck i wanted. and if he was a "true" christian then he would say his piece and accept the fact i didnt agree.

You shouldnt "push" your religion. leave that to the Jehovah's Witnesses

That´s very naive to say it has done allot of good for our society as well you can´t ignore that. If it had´nt been the church that shaped us sure as hell something else would have. ( i´m by no means religous rather a strong atheist )
