yea...i just got my gunny sergent last night...gonna be awhile till i get 1st sgt.....kinda sucks....ohs well
That's what I thought about the distance between Lance Corporal and Corporal. For those who can remember Lance Corporal was 1000 points and Corporal was 10,000. That meant that you had to increase your score by ten times, which seemed a little extream to the beginner player.

oh man i remember that. 2 days after i got it the new patch came out and the whole rank the changed. i was a bit mad because i spent so much time just so i could get an unlock and say im a higher rank than my friend... but it came out and i went up soo many ranks. yay only 10000 to go until my next rank! (sergeant major)
i think it took me longer to make Master Sergeant/First Sergeant point wise than it took me to make Master Gunnery Sergeant/Sergeant Major since now i know what i need to do to get the points i need...1tdiestoday wrote:

i made First Shirt in the first week of october i think and ill make Sergeant Major this weekend
been playing since july 2nd so first shirt took 3 months and S.Major will take about 2 months

i just got my staff sergeant today and the only reason i got there so quick from the last one is because of 16 player maps.... they are good.... you can really rack up the points
jump from master sargent to sargent major is nothing, now to 2nd lt that is something
It's odd though, now that they have all these officer ranks, the Master Gunnery Sergeant/Sargeant Major rank still takes 30,000 pts, while you don't get another hike of that size until the general ranks. Only justification I can see for that is this is the last rank for weapon unlocks.
side note: I wouldn't mind seeing weapon/equipment unlocks that required training with the kit. ie a deployable tripod for support, multi mag scope for sniper, AA shoulder fired Stingers for anti-tank (instead of anti-tank missles), Faster Med Kits (no dropping)/Wrench for medic/engineer, Better armour/even less running for assault, extra long sprint bar for special forces. I'd recommend expert combat badge or veteran combat badge and a weapon unlock (if you later get expert you can get your unlock back for something else) but of course I'd rather they fix all their bugs properly before looking for new features. While I'm at it, Expert Commanders would be able to fire each artillery battery separately, and drop two smaller supply crates (each recharging separately) And if all commanders could enter and exit their map screen and not wipe out the little red dots from a sattelite scan that would be great. I hate hitting the scan button, hearing a vehicle jumping ut of the screen to see what's up and a second later pushing the map button and getting no bennifit from the scan. Grrr. Oh and badges should let you take over pilot positions in vehicles.
btw, I like side notes that are bigger than the main idea

Its a bloody grind for sergeant major, be done with it soon luckily. Its a pain in the ass tbh, thinking most of the next ranks are only half the score. Less than 9k for me to go so not bad really i guess.
