Well I am 46 and I can usually take gold or silver most any round.
i am 15 and my first FPS was wolfenstein 3D or doom, but i didnt start playing online till december.

I'm 17, but a few clan members in my clan are 50 or close to 50 and can easily keep up with us youngins' when playing BF2... I know for a fact I'm still going to be gaming at that age, and even older!
