I am thinking of upgrading my computer and I want to get a new graphics card but my computer has a AGP graphics card board so i can't have a PCI E card unless i upgrade my board also, but I don't know how much it would cost to upgrade my board.

So i was wondering if anyones knows how much it is to upgrade my graphics card board to PCI E or how much the best AGP graphics card is?

post the specs of your computer so we know what type of cpu you have, etc. also if there is any price range for the card and board.

You should/could try AsRocks Dual series. The Dual boards support both AGP and Pci-e, which allows gradual upgrading. Besides, they do not just work really well, they're ridiculously cheap! YAY!
I need around tree fiddy.

WOOT a Stokie (if you from the proper Stoke ). What sort of budget you got. And what other specs you got, i.e ram and cpu? And yeah Asrock mobo would be a good idea, I getting one on Monday. Check out this website www.overclockers.co.uk if you are from the proper Stoke they based locally so you can go and pickup...

Upgrade to 1024MB at least, rather go for 2048MB and spend around 200-250€ for a ATI X1950PRO AGP8x or an Nvidia Geforce7800GS APG8x

For me:

AMD Athlon 3800+
2 gig RAM
PCI Sli Mobo (K9N 570 Force)
200 Gb HD
430 watt PSU
7600 Gt 256mb
------------------------
750 euro's.

Best PCI-E card ATM is the 8800GTX -> 500 euro's or sumthing.

Look inside your case at the psu it will probably say on it somewhere what wattage it is. Also u could consider getting some faster ram (6400) if your mobo will take it.

Try this if your mobo (motherboard) will support it.

damn, I can not remember what my new psu is at. Well, I think that it is atleast on 380W.

On google it says that it needs 450W with 30 amps.

I just brought an XFX 7600, AGP for £100, works sweetly, I'm too lazy to upgrade my m/b I'll do it at the end of the year.

The 7600 AGP is a little buggy with drivers but it only took me about an hour to find some that worked well for it.

650W is easily enough power. You could get away with a 500W-550W PSU but if you're buying one you may as well get the bigger one in case you want to upgrade again later.

Don't think they will mate, but if you go down there you can always ask (no doubt they do there will be a charge), but fitting these components should be relatively easy, however if you ain't sure about there are plenty of local computer shops that you can take it to and they will do it again for a fee obviously...

Good luck finding one.  If anyone remembers my ASRock threads...I couldn't find a single one in stock.
