I'm having a problem with my audio. When I play music, it sounds muffled, and when I play games, some of the sounds don't come through properly, or not at all (the DE gunshots in CSS is an example).
I've had this problem a few weeks back, when I installed STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl and the 1.0001 patch. In that instance, I did a system restore and it fixed the problem, and it didn't come back when I reinstalled STALKER.
Now, I installed a few games, and it's come back again. I can't do the system restore (there are no restore points to go back to) and deleting the games did nothing. I have no clue as to what exactly caused this, but I am sure it has to do with the game installations.
I'm running windows XP with SP2, and my mainboard is an Asus Commando, if that helps.
