...According to the stores here in Columbus, Ohio..... USA.

So I went to Comp USA...it was having a store closing sale.  I went to Microcenter.....closed.

Now I have to go to Best Buy, not much of a PC gaming selection.  I go to Circuit City.... PC is as far away from the front as possible.  If they could put it in the dumpster they would.  I go to EB Games.  What the hell happened there?

I remember when EB Games the PC section was huge.  Now you need a GPS to find it.

Why is PC gaming dying according to local retailers?

I know what you mean, I remember going into Fry's years ago and seeing at least one full isle, 50ft. long, stocked with nothing but PC games on both sides.  Console shit, and tax software have now relegated PC games to a neat little shelf in an unlit corner of the store.

PC gaming is dieing because it cost to much money to buy a computer that can run new games well..

Columbus sucks as far as this stuff goes.  I order everything online anymore, only this close to me is the EB on High in the Gateway, and they really don't have much as far as PC games go.  Let alone anything, really.  Polaris and Easton are nice like you said, but traffic sucks... too many rich people buying Hummers and not knowing how to fucking drive them.
Good to be back.

The only PC store in Easton was closed today.  Now there is nothing PC specific within decent driving distance.

Those stores are dieing all together, it's not just PC games. Their overhead does not give them a chance to compete with the extreme competitiveness of online shopping. People are getting lazier/smarter and would rather compare prices with a few clicks.

Internet's undercutting everyone i guess. Plus I could count on my fingers how many good games have come out in the last 12 months.

PC gaming itself isn't dying, its just evolving.  More and more people are buying their games online.

you could just ask them to order the game in for you.. i'd assume that would of been the most obvious step..?

Ironic, what if you don't already have one?
Then you have to learn to speak and understand modem, and dial the number direct.

I just went to look around, see if anything sparked some interest.  I know about the internet, but I am on my computer enough.  I would rather go to the store sometimes.

Exactly... i mean PS3 can have PC software on it now. It can have a freaking OS. It IS a PC, just a good preset one that doesnt require fiddling about with to make good.

YEA, you can download linux on the PS3. Although I dunno if it is any good, never tried it. But tbh getting a console like PS3, would mainly be for playing games/blu-ray movies...(hence the name)
