BF2S Forums Help on building a computer

Hey, my mother has come to me asking for me to look around for a new computer as our old one is completely fucked up. She doesn't want nothing special, just something that if fast enough for running usual "mum" stuff etc. Well, after looking around the internet, I was seeing some things for about £300. Then, I thought maybe this could be a chance to perhaps build a computer myself.

So, my basic question is: How much would it cost for a computer around these specs:

1GB of RAM
Any hard drive, we can use the ones from our old PC.

Hmm... My knowledge of PC's aren't too great

So yeh, could anyone give me a basic list of everything I would need to buy to get a computer built and working.

If it would work out too much to even bother this way, then I won't bother.

Then later on, I can buy stuff for it myself and make it a gaming PC
