This question is more for future reference than what I'm going to do today or this week.

System is a Dell Dimension E510 (I know, I know, but I needed to finance the new system last year).

Dual Core Pentium 4 processor  @ 3 Ghz

1 Gig Ram

ATI PCI-Express Video (forget 256 or 512)

260 gig HD

Now I have an older ATI regular PCI video card I'm not using.  If I had a spare monitor could I slap the old PCI video card into my machine & get dual video?

What I would like to do is run BF2 on my primary video but keep Teamspeak & Xfire up on the secondary video.

Right now I play with mostly low settings except for HIGH Geometries & something else.  Shadows etc on low, View distance 100%.

Would this set-up work?

BTW -> will upgrade RAM before anything else.

it should work, although such set ups have been known to cause problems. Just try it. What do you have to loose? Also you should have a second port on your primary gfx card into which you can plug in a 2nd monitor.
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Yeh your current graphics card should have 2 ports on there for a 2nd monitor this way you could run your other apps on your secondary monitor like I do.

DOH !

You two are correct, there IS a 2nd video port on the card.

I thought that was for hooking up a different TYPE of monitor, didn't realize I could run both off one card.

Thanks & Karma.
