Where do i find the Battle Recorder files once i've downloaded them?
in the community section on the main menu, then battlerecorder. It'll have a list of servers you've visted that were running BR.
I've already downloaded them. where do i find them?Fenix14 wrote:

????
Steps:
1. Go to Community tab and download a battlerecorder under battlerecorder bookmarks.
2. Go back into the Community tab, then look to the right of where you downloaded the battlerecorder and there will be a column called battlerecorder library and the one you just downloaded will be right there.
3. Click on that battlerecorder and press Play File that shows up in the bottome right hand corner.

If you have played on a server that uses Battlerecorder, then you need to go into the community tab in Battlefield 2, and download the demos you want to view (along the left hand side). You can then view demos by selecting them along the right hand side.
However, please note that the majority of the servers that "support Battlerecorder", have not been set up correctly, and so for the majority of demos you try to download, some sort of error will show. The only way around this is to find a server that has working BR- trial and error. Also note that the demos do not stay on the server forever, so ensure you download them after the round has finished
HOWEVER.
I also have a feeling that you are getting confused (forgive me if I am wrong).
If you are using Fraps to record the video live, ingame, then the video files will be found in C:\Fraps\ (unless you changed the default location)
You then view them by opening them up using a program such as Windows Media Player.
For more information on using BR- see here

^^What he said.
If you want to record video from the battlerecorder, run fraps while you're doing what you do in BR. Get the vid from your fraps default directory. Easy as pie.

that didn't really help because i don't have a folder called demos. also i have downloaded several of them and they don't show up in the community tab, any clues?Titch2349 wrote:

When a server has BR set up correctly, will see the BR file avilible for d/l in the community tab...
The BR files are not movie files, they are demo files for BF2 and play back from inside BF2. I think the option to watch them is in the community tab too, though I cant recall offhand. You then have to use Fraps or something to record the demo BF is playing to a movie file.
For god sake just search, there are tons of guides.

If you have downloaded them from the server web site, you need to put them in this folder if your download location is different.
C:\Documents and Settings\Name\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\demos
If you don't have that folder, make it, then put them in it.
You can watch them using BF2 then, but editing I know nothing about.

yeah, but after i download them, they never show up in my Community tab, they get downloaded and then i can never find them.VicktorVauhn wrote:

the extension is .bfdemo so on the start menu search for *.bf2demo
copy those to the demo folder as stated above.
Do you have vista? Ive heard with other game that put things in my documents that vista puts them elsewhere...
edit: poke around C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Documents. if you are on Vista...

lol hell man I dunno....
Do you have vista? help us out man...the longer/more detailed you can make your responces the better we can tell what you have going on...
I don't know ANYTHING about vista...however another game I was playing saves demos in my documents and someone on a forum was having troubles finding demos recorded in it...
they told him this:
If that doesn't work, I'm sure vista has a search, just search for *.bf2demo
If that doesn't work, your likely d/ling them wrong....make sure when you download them you see the progress bar and all that buisness...

again thats for another game, so you wanna be looking for BF2 folders or something along those lines....Hi Jon,
Have a look in C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Documents. Is there an rFactor folder in there? Or directly in C:\Users\<YourUserName\ ?
Vista stores it's user data in a different place from XP, but I don't have Vista handy to tell you exactly where to look, sorry.
Failing that, have you tried using the Vista search tool? A search for all files with .avi in the filename should find it.

yeah then it really should just be d/l to the right folder...
Just to double check...
You goto communities and select a file from the battle recorder bookmarks, and select download. You see a progress bar that fills completely, then the file SHOULD show up on the right hand side. Select it on the right and click play or what ever it is...
Map loads and everything is replayed....
Files should be in "C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\demos"
Just to double check...

on the left in the "bookmarks" are not downloaded...in fact, many will stay on there even after they aren't avalible. Most can only be downloaded for a day or so. once you select one in the bookmarks, you should be able to click the download button. After it downloads it will be moved to the right column under "Battle recorder library"
Select one from that list, and click "Play file"

thats the problem, they don't move to the right hand columnVicktorVauhn wrote:
