hi guys, for the past few months i've been using this site to check my Bf2 ranked stats, and shadowing the forums a bit, well now, i've decided to show my face round here as i need you, the Bf2s community, to help me.
So here's the problem, I'm 17 and have only been gaming online for about 6 months after one of my mates told me PC gaming was way better than console gaming, so for this time i've been using the family PC which to be honest with you, is a pile of crap, now this is the problem, im a tech 'noob', 'nub, 'newbie' whatever you want to call me so have no idea where to start, i've been browsing some sites and found one where you can custom build Desktops for relatively cheap prices (www.pcspecialists.co.uk) and found myself liking this one:

I got my custom PC from www.pcoption.co.uk

They are very good, very quick, and we got 2 systems from them 2 years ago, and havent had 1 problem.

Very happy to help you, they have msn support as well, and help you during the sale, and afterward as well.

Get core 2 duo and dont get so many small drives, better to get one big drive, much cheaper that way.

In theory that should eat up BF2 spit it out and call it its bitch. But Im stillsceptical about Sli and the 8800 especially with older games like BF2. Its definetly future proof, with the 4 gb of RAM, there's no need for the three hard drives though, especially if they're just 80gb. You could save a bit now and then in the future when they're a bit cheaper add another hard drive and maybe only one of those graphics card.

With that resolution you wont need the two graphics cards, as it wont be used to its full potential (not until a few newer games come out).
Also go with C2D as I've had nothing but problems with AMD, and they're getting a bit behind now.

Get an intel E6600 and a 680i mobo then it's great.

And I forgot to say you dont need such a huge PSU. As long as you get a good beand like OCZ or Thermaltake, you'll get away with 650 watts but I'd go for 700 watts.

I sent you a PM by the way.

C2D is Intel Core 2 Duo. Get the E6600 because its the best for overclocking and will serve you well!

PC Option is a realible company

Add info@pcoption.co.uk (guessing- check their website), and they will help you.

I would go C2D (Intel Core 2 Duo), as they outperform AMD ATM

I wouldn't raid if I were you since you're inexperienced. Hell I don't even raid myself, not worth the risk.

Holy fucking shit.
A computer like that would rock ANY game. BF2 would be like a flea on its massive arm of power.
you dont need that much really you could simplify it a lot. A TON infact and save some money/time.

But. Do as you please

It depends what RAID you have installed.

It can be used for Data Backup, for Speed, or for both.
