Intel C2D E6600 or E6700
2GB 1066MHz DDR2 RAM
Geforce 8800GTX
Good 600W PSU would be enough
2x raptor raid

No need for 2 graphic cards, 2 GB of RAM is enough (except if you plan running a server or sumthn..), X2 5600+ can hide in front of C2D, take 2 raptors in RAID /win
Why the hell do you need 2 DVD drives?

hi guys, for the past few months i've been using this site to check my Bf2 ranked stats, and shadowing the forums a bit, well now, i've decided to show my face round here as i need you, the Bf2s community, to help me.
So here's the problem, I'm 17 and have only been gaming online for about 6 months after one of my mates told me PC gaming was way better than console gaming, so for this time i've been using the family PC which to be honest with you, is a pile of crap, now this is the problem, im a tech 'noob', 'nub, 'newbie' whatever you want to call me so have no idea where to start, i've been browsing some sites and found one where you can custom build Desktops for relatively cheap prices (www.pcspecialists.co.uk) and found myself liking this one:

stay with PC specialist. they make very good PCs and at a good price. the only problem is that quite often they're computers can be delayed slightly. mine was about 2 weeks over on the delivery. but i have had the computer about 3-4 months and i am very happy with it. i have had no problems with the computer, apart from my personal fuck ups. and i also recommend you choose an Intel core 2 duo processor instead of  the amd one.

Way better, it has 10.000 rpm, other have mostly 7200. It's much more expensive too. The only problem is the size, it doesn't have as much room as slower ones.

dont know how much these can be trusted as the HD2900Xt isnt out till the 2nd but they give an idea.
http://r800.blogspot.com/2007/04/radeon … xt_28.html

Unless the Nvidea drivers are really poor, something is very bad about the quality of the 8800 for DX10.

My choice would be

Intel e6600
AMD HD2900XT x 2 if you want
2 x 1 GB Ram
Crossfire motherboard of some form
700 - 800 watt power supply from a good well establist brand.

Well, you have disks with 15.000 rpm, but that's extreme, you won't need that. Or if you have the money, look here:http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=14&name=Internal-Hard-Drives

it seems to be quite good? i don't really know much about Pc's so im just guessing but from wht i've been told so far i shd get a

C2D processor
2/4GB ddr2 ram
8800GTX graphics card
Raptor 75/150GB (x2) in Raid0
FUNKY NEONS WHOOP WHOOP (and i quote from my mate)
a good gaming case

edit*   dream hardrive (L) (L) (L) Fujitsu MAW3300NC 300GB 10,000 RPM 8MB Cache SCSI Ultra320 80pin Hard Drive

if i can find this in the UK markets im getting it

improvements on this?

Cool PC. Just get a good PSU (Enermax Liberty 620W will do) and you're good.

why are you getting 2 8800 gts video cards?

If I were you I would wait for the 8800 Ultra to come out and get that.

Or if you're incredibly impatient and want your system now, go for 1 GTX now and then throw in another if/when you feel the need.
