I can't get Special Forces to install.

I had some problems with BF2 so i did a fresh install. BF2, armored fury and euroforce all installed just fine. However when I begin the setup to install SF, the setup just crashes with no warning or anything. I have manually uninstalled BF2 completely several times, and each time, SF wont install. When I go to my add/remove programs list in control panel I always see this, but it wont remove:

When I click remove the install shield starts as if it will remove it, but then it just crashes.

What should i do?

i have had trouble with mine too, but it was a different one where I would try to install it and it sat there and said patching bf2 to 1.12 or something like that, and it really never did anything

Yeah, had that problem many times on many games dude.

What you need to do is this. I ur familiar with Registry Editor, go into that by clicking run, "regedit" etc

Then click find... and type BF2. Alternatively, just delete the BF2 key if u know where to find it. keep searching and deleting every one until nothings left. Then try again.

Maybe you couldn't because of the patch that BF2:SF has; try installing them in this way:

BF2
BF2:SF
All the other booster packs
Patch 1.41

Download CCleaner and go to tools > battlefield 2:SF > delete entry. This should remove the entry from add and remove program and allow you to reinstall. Also you can clean the registry with it.

Or email the friendly EA support team.
If You want to clean the registry try this free program:

3 AA + patch again
3 EF + patch again

You will find any folder that says bf2, one appears to be in HKEY_CURRENT_USER under EA , another seems to be in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE under EA as well.
Delete your battlefield files from these keys, do a cold boot , then try reinstalling.
I had the same problem once & this fixed it. Good luck brother.

It works anyways - It shows my PC, PSP and 360 games from EA and gives all of their CD Keys

thats your best bet if you don't want to fiddle about in the registry.

1.41 patch
EF
1.41 patch
AF
1.41 patch

(although your re-install problem was due to stuff left over on your PC, I had a problem with my DVD drive that caused reinstall issues, it wouldn't read key files, and thus once i press Esc in battle and try to go back, it'll keep dumping me to the menu. Fix for that is a new drive but thats probably not related lol)
