I thought Cali was supposed to be environmentally friendly. They're reallly fuckin themselves over.
woo hoo! fresno's not no. 1 anymore!
Wrong... I use all the gas possible to maximize my carbon output just to make LA what it is. Pollution isn't really anything to get worried about, just keep the trash off the ground and don't worry about the air yet.cryptofcolumbus wrote:

I live in/near L.A., in the exhaust zone of Orange County, which is southEast of downtown L.A. by about 20 miles.
The air sucks, but, the indians called this placed " the smoky valley" because of the lingering smoke after large fires. It's a result of air currents, same as Mexico city which I believe has the worst air pollution in the world. Their air is stagnant, so it builds up.
It's also really windy, a lot of fine desert dust is always about adding to the particular count.
But, yes< I sort of dispair over the pollution and litter.

Someone in Houston MUST have bribed the writer of that article.

The level of pollution in California is actually what inspired them to clean things up. In typical human form, they waited until it got really bad to do anything about it.cryptofcolumbus wrote:

Europe experienced the same thing a few decades ago. Pollution is still really bad in some areas of Europe, but they've done a lot to clean up their acts since they've become very familiar with the consequences of pollution. California is just following suit.
It would be interesting to know if any areas stand out as being proactive in their approach to pollution. I can't think of many places that aren't already fucked that have gotten serious about environmental cleanliness.
