The iminent release of the new R600 from ATI, does anyone have any info on price reductions on there previous generation cards?  I mean, for all intents and purposes the x1950 series are still great cards, more specifically I am interested in the x1950xtx but at £230ish atm, I would be as well buying a 320mb 8800GTS from nvidia for £200.  Anyone have an idea of how much we can expect them to come down by?  Saying £150 for example, because I am trying to get a rig for as little as possible which can play games pretty well, it will be upgraded, but it is only for my nephew to play his games and the most demanding of which will probably be battlefield to be honest with you.

Any info would be greatly appreciated

A X1950XTX is the biggest waste of money  you can make at the moment, it runs games too well there is no need.... get a X1950pro.... or if you want to pay so much a dx10 card...
a X1950 pro.. will run all the top DX9 games, maxed out..... at resolutions of 1280x.....
please. do not watse your money on a X1950XTX

as for your question..... i dont know how big the price drop will be, it wont be £150 in the near future...and even then i dont recomend such a extreme DX9 card...

goodluck

It'll be released on May 13, and there will probably be an initial money battle between ATi and nVidia to December. After December, prices will be lower than you imagined.

Shouldn't there be a paper-launch of ATIs new models today? Maybe the prices will already start to drop a little...
