In response to zimmer in general.

1. Other europian counties introduce alcohol to young people earlier.
2. I dont REQUIRE alcohol to have fun, its just easier (lowers inhibitians).
3. I never drink when at home with the family unless its a celebration, at uni i get pissed with my mates loads, because its a joke, its fun, i have loads of none pissed fun, but its a release.

OK we've established that most of us like a few drinks after a weeks work, which is cool. Also I'd say we all agree that getting paralytic and putting yourself in a dangerous position is not clever. If there's any more to say I think it would make a good topic in D&ST personally.

Anyway I'm working tomorrow (a Saturday) night so another 12 hours of thankless tasks helping MoP's lol.

So now you are blaming it on how "Britain" doesn't introduce drinking at a younger age to you?
Bullshit. Europeans learn to respect the "drink", you don't. I couldn't even start to imagine what would happen if drinking was taught at a younger age here. It would be chaos.
I am sure you have more "drunk" fun than sober fun. You don't need it, you want it because you think getting drunk is fun.

Why do you think exams are getting easier and easier compared to the ones that people were doing 15 years ago? Because this generation is getting dumber and dumber.

There are plenty of guys who can scan some really good id's. . . .Its tough in more urban cities to get pass the bouncers, but when your 17 all you want to do is go to dive bars/buy up anyway!

Fake id's are critical for hooking up with girls older than you, buying alcohol whenever you want! There is nothing like the satisfaction of taking a 22 year old girl home when your 17 after your both shitfaced after partying at a bar your not supposed to be in!!!

There was a program a while back on TV, it showed 25 smart pupils, all predicted for As or whatever the highest grade is at A level, but they were all going to do the O levels as well ( O levels were the ones before A levels were introduced ). They all got top marks in their A levels; they all FAILED their O levels. All of them.
They were all incredibly smart, but incredibly smart for this generation, not in comparison to the O level generation.

Wrong. We are learning more and more about technology. We are not getting smarter about it. The technology is there, we are just finding ways to use it.
If people 30 years ago had the technology we have right now, then they would have done much more with it. But they were not as ADVANCED as us. Being advanced doesn't mean you are smarter, it just means you understand more about what is already there. It is just evolution mate.

I would say our teachers are getting worse, and that as a result kids arent getting the quality of education that was received in the "old days". . . .

The population of every country has increased, which means more strain on our teachers and schools to pump the kids through the system. . .

I think if more time was invested in teachers and teaching, those scores would go back up to the levels they were at before.

I dont think this guy is right in saying we are getting genetically stupider. . . .they're is no evidence to that claim.  Just based on test scores alone isnt a valid reason to assume that theory. . .

I agree kids today arent getting the education they deserve/need. . . . .In the USA, public school is a joke! Although the test scores in my state of California have gotten better, I have a feeling they made the tests easier lol!  Who knows, could very well be we are dumbing ourselves with all the technology, we just arent using our brains like we used to. .  .

People just go into the bar here at 14 and order a beer, and they get it. You guys are all silly ^^ The only time they ask for an id is when you are supposed to be at school and the police asks you what age you are. Don't know about movies, but they usually don't ask. Never seen a kid being asked if he's 16+ for games that have the sign on it. Gotta love belgium.
