Also, planning to ignore it. Don't own a car, can't afford one, no license, no reason to own one until I need to move heavy objects long distances or get to places out of reach of train stations.

My friend works for a relatively big heavy construction vehicle manufacturing company, and he deals with big oil companies on a daily basis. There is no way in hell us consumers can make any oil company go under by boycotting, especially for one day. The oil companies do most of the business with other companies. The only way we can hurt them is by having more fuel efficient vehicles, that's it.
