Ford owns a patent that they bought back in the 70's?? from a guy who invented a transmission that produced 60+ miles per gallon. Doesn't that just piss you off? We won't have mass use of alternative fuels until we've exhausted the money flow of oil. Even then, the prices of the next fuel source will be equal or more to what we pay now for gas. We are just as dependant on fuel as we are on food and when the government/corporations control the fuel source.... well, we all know how greedy both entities are.
Thats a very interesting point you bring up. This pond digging job we did once in a housing development, we had 7 pieces of equipment running and we burned 1500 gallons of diesel fuel a day. Just think of all the mines, construction sites, and also semis and ships in the world that burn large amounts of diesel fuel.heggs wrote:
My friend works for a relatively big heavy construction vehicle manufacturing company, and he deals with big oil companies on a daily basis. There is no way in hell us consumers can make any oil company go under by boycotting, especially for one day. The oil companies do most of the business with other companies. The only way we can hurt them is by having more fuel efficient vehicles, that's it.
Guys there is only one thing that has to happen to shut the entire world down. Just park all the diesel tankers, and the whole world stops.
Wait...if it fails, that means nobody did it. That means they wouldn't need to offset the price. So....no actually you're right, they'll still increase the price to be jerks.usmarine2005 wrote:
Fails every time.
BTW..... They will raise the price between 1 to 5 cents the next day to cover the cost.
