I guess it's hard to please anyone these days .

PRINCETON, NJ -- A new Gallup Poll finds continued low levels of public support for both Congress and President George W. Bush. Twenty-nine percent of Americans approve of Congress, down slightly from last month's reading (33%) and this year's high point of 37%, while Bush's approval rating is holding steady at 33%. Both the ratings of Congress and the president are slightly lower than their respective 2007 averages. Approval ratings of Congress are higher among Democrats than Republicans, while Bush's ratings are much higher among Republicans.

Congressional Job Approval

According to the May 10-13, 2007, Gallup Poll, 29% of Americans approve and 64% disapprove of the way Congress is handling its job. Congressional approval is down 4 percentage points since last month, and is 3 points lower than the 32% average measured during the first five months of the year. The high point for the congressional approval rating so far this year was the 37% approval measured in February. Although ratings are quite low, Americans have been more positive in their assessments of Congress this year than last year, when an average of just 25% approved of Congress.

WASHINGTON - People think the Democratic-led Congress is doing just as dreary a job as
President Bush, following four months of bitter political standoffs and little progress on
Iraq and a host of domestic issues.

In summary our Government sucks.... all around.

Well let's face it - Congress haven't managed to change jackshit since the balance of power shifted so I'm not surprised. It's a bit of an impediment to your plans when the President will veto decisions regarding the death horse he's flogging out in Iraq, the ticket upon which the Dems got in on.

Why do you feel she is a traitor?

A traitor to Denmark? Did she send some vikings to Gitmo and not let them have their Carlsberg?

Cam that's exactly why it is so low. Obviously they are not going to get help from the right, and the left doesn't think they are doing an adequate job of pressuring the president. They are getting hit from both sides.

Agreed, Congress encompasses the entire body.  Ergo, if nothing is changing no one approves.  Pelosi's rating is high because I believe the country sees she is at least trying to change things.  The country voted for change, if they don't see it, or see it is being impeded, they will make another statement in 2008.

They are all worthless pussbags who get caught taking bribes and worse.

The dems vitriol about the war is a sham.
If Hillary gets elected we are still going to Iran.

Have a nice day!

Congress hasn't done anything productive in this decade, that's why we hate them.  They pass meaningless compromise bills that nobody likes, and fail to adress any serious issues with serious commitment.

Do you understand what the word 'traitor' means? I can look it up if you want.

Last time I looked at the map Denmark wasn't one of the 50 'united' states. As such Nanci Pelosi can't be a traitor to Denmark as she owes them no allegiance.

He says she is a traitor, so what?  What does that have to do with where he is from?

Because the intonation of the post suggested that Pelosi had somehow betrayed the poster, which is odd given that he/she's from Denmark.

I didn't read it that way, but if you did I can see why you said that.

Well, this is what happens when they sell out their own people for their own interests.  Whatever happened to the "Do not ask what you're country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." for the democrats OR republicans??

Is that Nader(sp) guy still running? Vote for him if he is.

Its not much different in the UK. Brown is an unelected leader who won't call an election anytime soon.
Cameron is a toff who's riding the green agenda all the way to Number 10 and won't do shit when he gets their.

It matters nothing to me as I can't vote for them anyway, even tho I am a UK (& Irish) citizen. At least you guys get to vote for the next douchbag.

That old saying annoys me sometimes. Your Government works for YOU, YOU pay their wages (through taxes) ...so I bloody well will ask what my Country can do for me. I admire patriotism ...but only to a certain point.
