"Falwell survived two serious health scares in early 2005. He was hospitalized for two weeks with what was described as a viral infection, then hospitalized again a few weeks later after going into respiratory arrest."

Why did he go to the hospital? He must not have much faith in his creator.

Lol, his article is soooooo short.

LYNCHBURG, Virginia (AP) -- The Rev. Jerry Falwell has died, a Liberty University executive said Tuesday. He was 73.

Earlier, the executive said Falwell was hospitalized in "gravely serious" condition after being found unconscious in his office.

Ron Godwin, the executive vice president of Falwell's Liberty University, said Falwell was found unresponsive around 10:45 a.m. and taken to Lynchburg General Hospital. Godwin said he was not sure what caused the collapse, but "he has a history of heart challenges."

"I had breakfast with him, and he was fine at breakfast," Godwin said. "He went to his office, I went to mine and they found him unresponsive."

Falwell, a television evangelist who founded the Moral Majority, became the face of the religious right in the 1980s. He later founded the conservative Liberty University and serves as its president.

Falwell survived two serious health scares in early 2005. He was hospitalized for two weeks with what was described as a viral infection, then hospitalized again a few weeks later after going into respiratory arrest.

He liked mixing politics and religion. Some could say he laid the groundwork for the end of seperation between church and state. Then he shit on Martin Luthor King during the civil rights movement, wrote a book of faux "facts" about Bill Clinton, and waged a war on the teletubbies.

Another fuckhead who got a ton of undeserved airtime. Hope heaven isn't hot Falwell. Enjoy eternity.

It has been a good week. Wolfowitz looks like getting nailed, Blair steps down, Jerry Falwell dies. Whatever next?

Just because he was guilty doesn't mean he's getting nailed, unfortunately. You should know how the world works.

I was more upset by anna nicole smiths death. And I wasn't very upset by that.

You want some insensitive comments, look up her thread.

Are you serious? This happens all the time over here. Wow, can't beleive you even said that one. I agree it might be abit harsh but still, it happens all the time.

I'll do what you guys tend to do, because you seem to be offended by what Cam said, I'm guessing you agreed with this guys views. Which is pretty appalling if not just as bad too.

September 2001: Falwell blames Americans for the 9/11 terrorist attacks. “The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the Pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say, ‘You helped this happen.’”
Falwell on Brown v. Board of Education: “If Chief Justice Warren and his associates had known God’s word and had desired to do the Lord’s will, I am quite confident that the 1954 decision would never have been made…. The facilities should be separate. When God has drawn a line of distinction, we should not attempt to cross that line.”
Bye bye Jerry, you bigotted homophobic Dominionist piece of shit. Enjoy your hell and have fun burning in it, the world is a little better for your passing. Oh and tell Reagan we said Hi.

Oh thank you Stingray. Thank you for showing us what hateful lefties we are, celebrating the death of Jerry Falwell. We, in this thread, should all endeavor to be better people, like the folks who call Rachel Corrie "St. Pancake", or the ones who created a pages-long thread on FreeRepublic making jokes about Beth O'Brien falling from a tree 150 feet to her death during a tree-sit protest against logging here in Oregon, or the ones who find the song "Haji Girl" funny and sign all of their BB posts with "Durka durka Mohammed Jihad". Maybe you'd think better of us if we made jokes about protestors getting pepper-sprayed and beaten. Please, Stingray, show us the way.

Falwell wasn't just someone with whom I disagreed. He was someone who used his power, influence and money to make the lives of myself and people like me miserable. He tried to use the coercive power of the State to enforce his religious views on all of us or failing that, punish those of us who would not conform to those views. He leaves behind a legacy of discrimination and hatred, a legacy plainly un-American on its face for its attempts to dismantle or destroy our basic freedoms. Damn right I'm going to celebrate one more small-minded religious fanatic in the grave. It means one less of the fuckers trying to make me into a non-citizen because I don't think, believe, fuck or live like they want me to.

HunterOfSkulls: I was addressing CPoe, but if the shoe fits . . .

People I disagree with don’t infuriate me to the level that I welcome their death.  I guess his assault on the teletubbies pushed you over the edge.
