But since you mentioned them, we do have Muslims in America and they are the exception.  in '93 a group of Muslims in America tried to blow up the WTC and failed.  In 2001 a group of Muslims flew planes into the WTC, Pentagon, and a farmers field.  They killed over 3000 people that they referred to as "infidels" in their statements.  They did these attacks in the name of their religion.  It was Islamic.

Strange, but all these other non Muslim religions never did any attacks on the Muslims in the name of their religion even after that.  And to this day the Muslims live amongst all the other religions free of threats and harm.

What is wrong with these people?  Can they not even form one decent terrorist organization to blow up a church and cleans their neighborhood of non believers.  Surely the terrorists could just hide within a community of like minded people and not be reported or captured.

Reading that you are from the US you should be in any of those religions that you listed; why don't you start the killing on your own?

Yes, and all I read in the news day after day is how the Catholics are killing Mormons while quoting the 10 commandments and the Jews are clubbing the Christians with menorahs while the Christian are drowning the Hindus in Holy water.  It is out of control.  There are whole neighborhoods you can't walk in if you belong to the wrong religion.

The Qu' ran also says similar. If memory serves it goes something along the lines "Thou shalt not kill an innocent man, for it shall be as is you have killed all men". so as usual its down to how different groups chose to interpret teachings.

As for all the op's pointing towards the Middle East etc, I have only this to say - What would happen if Muslims suddenly took a piece of land in the middle of america and said "we once lived here so this is now a Muslim state"? How long before fanatical Christianity would arise? Not long me thinks.

I'm not religous, I think relligion is seriously flawed. But the op is just one of a number of posts supposed to lean towards only Islam being flawed. The main problem in the middle east imo is the failure to seperate church from state. Islam in western countries is watered down amongst the youth, it only gets fundamental under pressure.

This works the same in England. Suddenly i'm surrounded by christians!!! These are people who never go to church or practice anything slightly christian. Suddenly its a christian country again because people feel threatened by islam.

Believe me there are plenty of fundamentalists in christianity, the difference is that they excluded somewhat from law making. Have you ever read the book of law in the bible? You can get stoned to death for shaving the hair around your temples ffs!

Where i live i co-exist peacefully with christians, jews, muslims and god knows who else.

Enough with the fear-mongering already. Positive solutions are not founded on hate!

Excellent Post with good points.  I would cite a quicker answer though, there are differences in the religions and some lend themselve to violence more.  Obviously Christians don't go around stoning people, would you care to comment as to why this is?  Also Israel was not placed in the Middle of a country.  Jews lived there before Israel existed, it just became formalised as their country for the most part.  I do see your point in this comment about Israel though, but somehow still feel there is less tolerance in the Middle East.  If an Islamic nation was created in a desert in Arizona for instance, I doubt Mexico, Columbia, or Canada would lob missles at this Islamic nation and comment about wiping it off the face of the planet.  Also, if there were only a few million Muslims left in the world after a Holocaust and that was their historical birthplace and was already populated with Muslims and it was a largely non Christian territory that was barren, well 40 years after the fact I would think that most Americans wouldn't give a shit and would be stomping out the "Christian Terrorists" that were bombing them just so we could live in peace.

I cite the failure to seperate church from state as the biggest reason for our differences. Muslims and Jews cohabited peacefully for a long long time. I think it was when Israel extended its borders during conflicts which really kicked things into overdrive.

Many Muslim governments lend their support to fighting terrorism, they have been instrumental in some of the big busts.

You are right in that there is less tolerance there, but it mirrors here. The more deaths we see the less tolerant we become of the politicians that supported this war and the less tolerant people become of Islam.
