more of a spokesperson....and a compromise.  ask the average iraqi how happy they are that a kurd is their president, their image to the rest of the world.  but if you didnt have the kurds represented at least somewhat in the new iraqi gov't, youll have a shitty situation up north where they pretty much live autonomously anyways.  they got their own flag and military force even.

Your signature is at once both revolting and reminiscent of the Scooby-Doo cartoons.

Anyone who believes anything the media says about Iraqis hating the US is quite simply, an idiot. It's already been stated by another forum member... the only Iraqis who don't want US troops in their country are the ones supporting terrorist activities, etc. Iraqis have lived in fear for many years under a ruthless dictator, and now that they're free to do what they want, you honestly think they want the very people protecting their new rights to leave? Give me a break.

Not every Iraqi that wants Iraq to be sovereign and free of U.S. intervention is a terrorist or terrorist sympathizer.  Granted, a significant number of them are (as far as we can tell).

No, it really is not.

For example, I leave for LA in a couple hours to go see my sister, the return tomorrow evening around 7. I will grab some beer on the way home from the airport and watch Family Guy.  I will wake up Monday, go to Starbucks, then continue on to work.  On the way to work I will pass the police station who just got brand new cars and equipment this year.  I will pass the brand new fire station also.  I will pass the brand new high school and football field.  I will pass numerous construction projects both residential and commercial.  I will do this by driving my new car down a freshly paved street.

No this is not a lie, this is the truth.  This is the truth for people who bust their asses and work hard.  If the money wasn't spent on the military, what would it be spent on?

Welfare and food stamps?  Gee great, more lazy dependent people.

Border Security?  I wish.  But where was that money for border security in the 80's and 90's?

Environment?  I wish.  But where was that money for border security in the 80's and 90's?

Sad fact is that money would go to shit that does not help the people who work hard.

*As a side note, those of you who like this new border security legislation, does it not seem pretty damn similar to Regan's border plan in the mid 80's?  I also suggest you look and see why it was shot down back then.

A good question....  but personally, I'd rather less be spent, period.

Instead of asking where it should be spent, we should be demanding that our government spend less overall, so that we can pay off the national debt and gradually keep more of our own income.

So, you think your government is ok coz you can afford to pay a 400 U$S leasing for a new car?

No...but I am not going to use that as an excuse not to afford and just sit around and wait for a government hand out.
