BF2S Forums How much would it cost to buy the Rights to Bf2?

I think DICE would want some money too. But I dont think they'll sell, it just brings in heaps of moneyz.

The franchise is still alive, they'd probably steal $20,000,000+. Most gamers understand the Battlefield series, they won't just sell it to no one.

Well, let's see ... I'm guessing they produce about 200 active titles and they have a market value of about 20 billion on the stock market ... that's 100 million per title, right?

Remember, they paid 800 million for the NFL game rights, and they paid 175 million for DICE.  So, them games are big business ... much more than your 20 million number.

First off, no one in their right mind would by a license for only bf2.  The franchise would be a different story and that would be mega money.  EA would never do it, the franchise is a goldmine for them.

yup I got stabbed in the heart by the news that mother fucker greedy owner took the money and ran when we got interviewed he said the last thing he wanted was to be like coke or Pepsi and he sold out  but life goes on we'll get some money from our shares

They wont sell. Over 1,800,000 copies have been sold. Average price per copy $50USD= $92,500,000 and change. You add in Special & Euro Forces, Armored Fury and you are well over 150 million. I dont know how much they make on the back side from "Official Ranked Retail Server Rentals", but its a monthly asset that wont be going away.

Sometime after patch 1.12, i recall EA buying out DICE, so they own all the rights to the developement of BF2, essentially. Ditto.

Unless EA is bankrupt and you could buy the whole company, I doubt you could ever buy anything from EA.
Except overpriced, buggy sequels to computer games that they have bought from bankrupt companies.
