The thing is, it might be a teeth thing but might not, every so often my jaw locks up and i have to wiggle it around to make it click back into place.. today when i woke up at around 12 coz im a lazy bugger it was really hurting and i couldnt barely open my mouth, it wouldnt click into place like it normally does, ive struggled eating all day and its just the same as the morning.. slightly better, but im still struggling to eat...

help, dont tell me i need to go to the dentist, hate that place

Doctors then.

I dont think it is a teeth issue, sounds liked you knocked it out of place at some time and have loosened the sockets.

And then with all the popping out etc, you have bruised around the sockets, is beneath your ears swollen?

Lockjaw. It's a form of tetanus (problem with the central nervous system) and is also known as Trismus.
I hope you don't have it.

What I posted above.

It means your nerves are tensed up and contracted in your jaw, keeping it locked (temporarily, I'm not too sure).

But I bet it's just a bone out of place.

i have the same thing...it kicks in every now and then. sucks big time...stop grinding (and clenching) your teeth as it puts too much unneeded pressure on the jaw muscles

i grind my teeth and clench them all the time while studying...my jaw clicks 90% of the time i open it.

I grind my teeth all night long (according to my parents) and I have no issues. Weird.

a common issue with teens is jaw lock. i think you probably have it. go to the dentist, and don't whine about how much you hate it. grow up.

Unlikely, from the way the OP is phrased this has been going on quite a while.  If he had tetanus, he'd probably be dead by now.

It really does sound like the joints of your jaw have become loose for some reason.  What you're experiencing is probably some form of dislocation, and the jaw won't move until you pop it back into place.

No real point in seeing a dentist, it has nothing to do with your teeth.  First stop should be a doctor, (who might refer you to an orthodontist, I guess).  Do get it checked, though.  If left untreated this kind of thing can get worse.

I had a problem with my hip joint when I was small.  It was kinda dislocated, and made me limp.  The dislocation caused the blood flow to be disrupted, which meant that the bone of the joint was decaying.

Go and get it checked.  It's probably not serious, but ifit is, the sooner it gets sorted out the better.
