So I have the old fart for a science teacher.
He is known for his lack of skill and teaching capabilities.
He is also known for inputting incorrect marks.

So we take a unit test on biological diversity. I score a nice 94%.
So my mom goes and checks my mark online, only to come across a 9.4%!

This brought my total test mark for all my tests down to a 66% and my entire grade down from about a 94% to a 85%.

My friend also had this problem, and she took it up with him, and he never changed it.
Should my parents call the principal if he doesn't change the mark?

A high mark is a high mark. Screw it if you got high even though you did shit. Just think of it as "if he was actually a good teacher in the first place, i would've got that score anyway"

No, my real mark was 94%, and he said I got 9.4%.

Would the principal fire him?
Actually the point of this thread is to show how teachers hardly care about teaching anymore and could care less what their students grades are.

Nope. Teachers have to be convicted of rape or murder to get fired nowadays, but you should definitely do everything in your power to get your grade up.

i had a history professor last year for history 2, he said: " It doesn't matter what the book says, what the news paper said, what movies or tv shows said, its what I say, and don't bother coming in for help or asking questions because if you don't get it the first time you wont the second time and there is no point in telling you." We went over things about pearl harbor and he said that the Japanese wasn't even trying and could have destroyed the US. that isnt true at all. The kid next to me who is majoring in history took that class 3 times already getting A's every time failed this class. i wish i could have done something about it but no one cares

id have another science teacher look over the test, get his or her opinion, go to the principal. if that doesnt work, school boards work nicely.
hell, if the teacher is found incompetent...he'll be fired. simple as that

You can't possibly make that statement on the basis of a run-in with one teacher? Seriously?

I have a teacher like this, it's not just one. There are a ton of teachers like that. I had a World Geography teacher that didn't teach shit, then during the semester exam there were so many questions that nobody understood because he didn't teach anything.

But on the other hand, there are still many teachers that care about what you get out of the class. Last year in sophmore year, I had some of the crappiest teachers EVER. I mean, they taught like crap, didn't lecture well, nada. Only a few of the teachers I've had in the past 3 years were any good. This year, I had awesome teachers for every class (excluding Auto Shop. Teach my ass, all we do is sit around all day.).

Nowadays, grades seem to be the standard to how well a teacher can teach. I'm not doing so well in Spanish right now, and I can't blame it on the teacher. She teaches it well, albeit strictly, and if I'd paid attention in class, I'd be doing better. Vice versa, last year, I had a crap history teacher. But I did very well in that class because I basically taught myself. (ignored his "lectures" and read the book and studied on my own) I got an A and A- first and second semesters, respectively. By no means is he a good teacher just because I got that grade.

But yeah, to the OP, get that fixed right away. I'd be pissed as hell if I got an A on a test only to get a F on paper.

don't do anything about it, leave it for a few years, have no job, then tell them that your job required you to pass or some shit and then sue them.
but yeah saying "retarded teacher" doesn't narrow it down very much. in year 5 my teacher was saying Galileo Galilei INVENTED the pendulum. i could go on and on about how shit my teachers are but i can't be fucked

My school had a shortage of teachers last year first semester. Fucking annoying long-term subs. Most of them 3 days- 1 week all semester long. every time one goes and another comes a couple assignments that most of the class did the new sub can't find it so every one gets an 0. Most of them were okay but only 1 didn't fuck us over on our grade when she cpouldn't find our work turned in and raised all our grades at the end.

No, see, the problem is that that is far from the truth. It's easier for the school to deal with the complaints than it is to fire the teacher, pay for their severence, and find a new one. Schools are extremely reluctant to fire anyone anymore, at least here in the US. I've had a teacher that was complained about by the student's parents every year to the point that for the last 4 straight years a petition has been issued requesting his removal, and nothing has been done.
