The martial arts dork

Last two places I have worked I have noticed a certain type of disturbing personality --- "The martial arts dork". This is person who is in thier late 30's and older, has been attending a strip mall dojo for the last year or two. A dead give away is when they use their new found powers to kick open doors and punch paper towel dispensers.

Any spottings?

Jesus, we have a few of them in my office too. They love to hang out in the hallway and argue about why their style is so much better than everyone else's. The only guy they don't bother is the one who's training for UFC and actually knows how to fight.

If they were true martial artists they would show some restraint, respect, and discipline. I know the type very well, they're loud, obnoxious, and flaunt their said styles to anyone dumb enough to listen, however when it comes down to it they're the easiest to put down.

QFT&E. Too many McDojos teaching it all wrong, so many people abusing it.

And don't automatically make the assumption that martial arts + DnD = idiot. I do both, and am actually learning the former properly.

Watch out guys, we have some martial arts dorks on the forums. I've seen several posts of people bragging about being trained to fight against punches, kicks, nunchuks, knives, missles, etc... We should post links to them here if anyone stumbles across one.

Lol. I was too, but I stopped playing when I was 12 (back in '87). Just playing D&D doesn't necessarily make you a dork, but everyone must agree that it raises the likelyhood 100x. Anyway, who cares? I'm still a dork, now I'm just a dork who doesn't play D&D.
