Russian secret agents ...it's all part of their toughening position on the world stage lately. Locking up outspoken Millionaire businessmen, banning foreigners from working in retail, killing former KGB spies, they just don't give a shit anymore.
British secret service would not have helped in any way, the media in Britain at the moment are treating it as an embarrassing diplomatic fingers up to British security services, I doubt they'd have assisted in it.
