BUNNYHOPPING.

Ok, I'm curious to know what peoples reactions are to this...not that it's anything new, but bf2 has been out for a damn while and I was wondering if the mojority of players do it. Ok, generally I do hop. One or two hops to avoid being shot or two confuse an opponent in CQ fights. Other than that I have found it isnt really effective. I got banned from a server recently for it and I was curious if everyone else is "against" it or not. In my personal opinion it's a way of avoiding fire. I mean, would you not strafe back and forth just because it looks funny or isn't realistic? I think that generally more skilled players tend to hop once or twice and it's the people who can't utilize it who complain.

I dont hop. I think its bull shit. Me personally think its cheap tactics to hop around the battle field. I do admit that I tried it once or twice.

But if you wanna bring it up, that's kl. I generally bunnyhop to avoid bullets and the like. I don't mind other people doing it seeing they're at a disadvantage not being able to shoot.

Then I crack them in the back with my L96, that's always funny. Especially with bf2's physics lol.

OK but why do you think it's bullshit? It's not like I get an unfair advantage, you can do it too! The only thing is I'm probably just better at utilizing it to dodge bullets (not trying to sound condecending or arrogant).

There's no way for admins to see all bunnyhopping, so even if you ban bunnyhopping a lot of people will get away with it. But some people won't get away with it, especially if they kill an admin. The result is unfairness, pissed-off people, and a server with lots of bunnyhoppers anyway.

Good players aren't bothered by bunnyhoppers. It's mostly just a rule for mediocre players and power-hungry admins.

Honestly, who the F' cares? I imagine bunnyhopping is fine when YOU do it. Claymoring is fine when YOU do it. Grenade spamming is fine when YOU do it. Etc., etc. It's a freaking video game. I'm going to clothesline a small child, the next time I hear someone bitch and moan about "realism" in video games. BF2 was never meant to be real. It is a cross between realism and arcade-style FUN gameplay.

Closing thought? People are overly-competitive, and BITCH when they die, no matter how it happens.

Well these people are defining it wrong then. If you never played v1.0, v1.03, v1.1 and v1.12 then you have no idea what bunny hopping and dolphin diving is. I would find videos, but I really can't be bothered.

In 1.2, 1.21 and 1.3 they reduced the effectiveness of bunny hopping and eliminated dolphin diving. In 1.4 and 1.41 they eliminated bunny hopping all together.

Jumping is not and has never been bunny hopping.
Going prone is not and has never been dolphin diving.

Anyone who complains about these things in the current patch has no idea, and probably never will.

I have no problem with unlocks. They are in the game for a reason. As it happens though the only unlocks I use in the whole game are the L96A1 and the PKM if I'm USMC cuz I hate the SAW.
