Rumor has been going around that Barack Obama is being preened t be Hilary Clinton's VP?  Basically he's being paraded as a viable Presidential canidate to not only garner alot of contributions, but to make the Clinton/Obama  ticket stronger in the general election.

Interesting theory. Can't say I know enough to comment further.

Chambers Reference Online wrote:

Preen verb (preened, preening) 1. tr & intr said of a bird: to clean and smooth (feathers, etc) with its beak. 2. said of a person: to groom (oneself, hair, clothes, etc), especially in a vain manner.
ETYMOLOGY: 15c.
Personally, I think "groomed" would be a word better suited to use in this instance.

The US presidency has been going downhill since Reagan. I personally would consider Reagan the last true US president. US politics will always have some element of corruption but as it is the lobbyists, corporations and other outside interests have too much power in the legislative and executive wings of the USA.

Lets just re-animate Reagan... Disney's last wish to make a President....  +1 Flecco

Reagan didn't take shit like the current admin does   he told Libya where to stuff it and he care where this country was going unlike the current {friends with OBL and Clan} 5 chances to take out OBL and the answer was no due to possibly losing an arms sale with who ever is supporters of OBL...  That's BULLSHIT

P.S.   Why dont we just elect Kim Jong-il or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad  as our new leaders or heres one even better....

Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton 2008 the two biggest jokes in the USA.....

We don't know yet, the DNC doesn't know yet. As it gets closer the polls will determine the best strategic move for them.

Given the animosity between Obama and Hillary, I would go with your second guess.

Personally, I think Edwards will end up as the running mate if he doesn't get the nomination.  He has the most definitive platform and the strongest legal background of the Democratic frontrunners.

Still, Richardson would be interesting to see in there.

I don't like Hillary either, but she's better than Bush.

If she does get the nomination, I'll probably vote for Nader or write in my vote for Ron Paul.

It's funny you should say that....  Reagan was really the first president to give unprecedented power to big business in our government.

I'd say the last really good president we had was Eisenhower, but I think Clinton was better than Reagan.

Back to topic.. Running mates won't be picked for another few months. There is no way that one particular candidate is being groomed to run under another candidate right now. Political science 101.

Yeah, they didn't excersise it so much while he was in office though.
