The US presidency has been going downhill since Reagan. I personally would consider Reagan the last true US president. US politics will always have some element of corruption but as it is the lobbyists, corporations and other outside interests have too much power in the legislative and executive wings of the USA.
It's funny you should say that....  Reagan was really the first president to give unprecedented power to big business in our government.

I'd say the last really good president we had was Eisenhower, but I think Clinton was better than Reagan.
Yeah, they didn't excersise it so much while he was in office though.

Roosevelt. The USA needs a Roosevelt. Then again it was around then that the Federal Reserve system got fucked up so maybe not.
Considering how his tax cut plans were aimed at the wealthiest people by far, I'd say big business was the primary reason why he got the Republican nomination.  Reagan was just the beginning of a new form of classism in America, because its predecessor was a more singleminded approach to interventionism.  By the time the 80s rolled around, materialism was at an all time high while the war drums continued beating.

The interventionism of Eisenhower was far more calculated and sensible than that of most of his successors, including Reagan.

Nowadays, you'd think we'd learn our lesson that the last 50 years have mostly proven that interventionism is a grave mistake....

That's assuming that Obama or Hillary will run outside of a nomination, which is very doubtful.

There's a greater chance Lieberman would do something like that, or perhaps, Ron Paul.

So far the polls show that Hillary's negative numbers are very high.

Well, New York Major Bloomberg just left the GOP.  He was a life-long Democrat before he became a Republican.  With his 1 Billion he'll pump into his own campaign do you think he will ask Obama to join his cause when Hillary wins the nomination?

Or will Barrak go with Hillary as her VP?

I dont know about the hispanic vote or what not.  I remember hearing clinton give richardson tremendous praise on his foreign policy platform during the last debate and I found that odd since theyre all competing for the same nomination.

richardson birthplace is the same as General Patton's birthplace and the same as my hometown.

Anyone know anything about Obama being raised under a radical Muslim father and he used to be in a radical Muslim group till he started running.

There was a hit piece that was done on Obama claiming he was raised in a Madrassa for 4 years when he was a child somewhere in South East Asia.

There's no point to bring that up because it really makes no difference.  His policies and his leadership abilities are what we should be focusing on.

Problem is so far all his policies don't make a hill of beans of scense.  He's all promise with no substance.
