I know a First Sgt. who was rifleman and a Staff Seargent who was medic in Vietnam

and then HIS great grandad (I think), who got an iron cross in the 1840s or summat.

i am vietnamese and alot of my family were officers, soldiers, etc in the vietnam war. never actually knew what did they do specifically (never really asked) but i do know that my uncle was a major and piloted a transport chopper, which got shot down by the VC.

My Grandfather was in the US NAVY during WWII. He was a plumber/engineer on a ship that transported tanks. I believe he was issued a Sten Gun.

Myself, I am a private in the Dutch armed forces, rifleman, and I use the Diemaco C7/C7A1. (Which is almost identical to the M16A2/A4).

EDIT:
Damn 'private' sounds pathetic when I read it. The Dutch word for that rank sounds much better, simply 'soldaat', which translated literally, means 'soldier', which sounds much more respectable than 'private'.

Meh. I'll be a PFC in time anyway.

My grandad had some boring typing job during the Korean war, his preffered weapon to practive with was his M1 Garand and his Colt M1911.

My other Grandad was a U.S. tank driver in Africa in World War 2.

My cousin's husband is a Captain in the army and uses an M16A2 I think. He got a Bronze Star in Afghanistan but he never killed anybody.
