No, don't buy it out of your money.. Well, you can yourself but ya know..

I will hopefully have around £800 to spend, I don't need a monitor so go get me the best system you can!!

Ofcourse you can change for your personal choices, but thats not too bad for the price. You might want to look elsewhere for RAM, as SCAN don't have very good deals on memory.

personally i used www.ebuyer.com (actually a uk site) to build this pc in march, thats a good system but i'd use the extra cash left to get a 640mb 8800GS (what i did) instead of the 320mb just to make sure its the best as once you've spent £250 a lil bit more won't hurt. they are a bit hard to find now but i'm sure ebuyer.com has some, they have very good delivery too.

i'm going to get that ram though, when i have the cash  as i just have 1gig at the moment and it means that my Bf2 goes all fooked colour wise (everything turns yellow) at its higher settings even though i have a dual core pro at 2.8

The nearest ebuyer postage depot is about 50 miles away from here cos I've bought stuff from them before.  Thanks for the help though.

Indeed I would but the resident techy's here can get a much better deal for the money and I have pretty much no knowledge of computer parts apart from what they're called so if I picked them myself I'd probably get shitty parts which would be aimless when I could ask you guys to help out.

I'm American. I know nothing of the £.

What would £800 be in USD? I'll give you links to Newegg stuff and then you can buy 'em on a UK site.

And the fact, the USA gets stuff, soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much cheaper, honestly, you would need add a lot to your final sum in order to reflect the uk price.  Newegg go global DAMMIT!

Edit:

I bought a system that consits of:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =CA-006-SS

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =CP-128-IN

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =MB-222-AS

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … subcat=877

Need a case?

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … ;subcat=35

Or that mad antec one that people seem to like for reasons I dont quite understand

Thats similar to what I bought recently, bar the PSU (mines enermax), and the fact, well actually I have a plane to catch in a lil while, heading state side for a wedding and pickin up a PNY 8800 GTX for the same price as the GTS i listed there.  You will be more than fine with the GTS tho.

All the parts work great, I tested it with a 7900GT and it ran flawlessly, highly reccomend that rig

Martyn

Motherboards a bit meh, but apart from that it looks good. Try and look for the same stuff on SCAN, its usually £20 or so cheaper overall.

Well now. Get a GTS with 640MB - it makes no sense paying the same for one with 320MB, especially as they got no different cooling design. 640MB is very neat for AA/AF

RAM is fine. I own it and it is fine. I've used the 4-4-4-12 version and I noticed no difference, even in gaming.

CPU is fine also. It is no different, even in Cache size, to an E6600 - except for a <300MHz speed difference. If he can overclock in even the stupidest way, he can hit 2.4GHz

GTX is way to expensive on his budget.
