Oh, you mean like becoming subservient?  Or, here's a thought...how about we expect as much respect as we give.  I know it's a tough concept, but try.
Isn't Utah the capital of Polgamy here in America?

TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!

I can't say we had more religious tolerance or respect for it in the past, but I'll be damned if we have as little in the future as we have now.

Also, semi-analyzing the topic, wouldn't the things from the past that could improve society already affected us in a way that cannot change by adding more, just like reaching the saturation point of a liquid or something.

We would have Star Trek ships and holodecks. Also, gladiator arenas and other facets of Roman culture were pretty cool, but mostly holodecks.
Christianity would also probably never get a footing, seeing as Rome would have expanded throughout europe...and we all know Rome's stance they had on Christianity.

Up until Constantine, the Roman Empire was anti-Christian.  Had it not been for his conversion to Christianity, there is a good chance Europe would never have become Christian.

I wish I could agree with you, but believe it or not, Buddhism could be described as just as destructive in the East as Catholicism has been in the West.  Both religions purged many other cultures around them throughout history.  There are areas of South Asia where the Buddhists oppress the Muslims.  There is even a Buddhist dictatorship in Myanmar.

But still, Buddhism would be my religion of choice, if I decided to convert to one.

Myanmar is ruled by a junta, but it uses Buddhism as a propaganda tool.

Sri Lanka is part of what I'm talking about, but it's not a cut and dry situation.  Both the Buddhists and the Muslims have contributed to conflict in the general region.

Why don't you have a nice big blanket statement that covers all the bases and get rid of the Torah? Or Zoroaster? Then you don't have any of these troubles.

A stable climate would be nice. And would less El Nino. (stupid annoying thing... level 4 water restrictions *shivers*)
