At this point in time, we're acclimated to situations that are literally "not peace" but even so far as war. Surely, we have been bothered by the Israel-Palestine conflict that has been going on for longer than many of our lives and that we have watched as we grew up. We're used to violent regimes and military coups in other countries. Hell, a war that our country is actively participating in might not even phase us anymore unless we personally know those involved.
My query to you all is what do you think would happen if the phenomenon of world peace occurred? What if something like the Kellog-Briand Pact was accepted by all. Governments would stop opressing those that they govern. Diplomacy is the number one method of solving disputes. Then, I think we would begin focusing on things to improve the well-being of humanity after realizing that we are mostly all , indeed, human. Countries could keep their international borders so that culture would not be affected by the surrounding countries and agreements to satiate all would be forged. Peace, however, is a far cry from what we have now though. I think it would be quite a change and requires some getting used to, if it ever does occur.
