Celebrities: the royalty of the USA?

What is going on with the US legal system? It seems that money and more importantly fame buys you special treatment and privileges. Admittedly these celebrities have gone through the same judicial process as anyone else but celebrities never seem to get found guilty (even guilty as sin OJ Simpson ...my own opinion!). When wacko Jacko was given the not guilty verdict people released doves of peace outside the court to celebrate ...wtf, I don't see many doves being released when Joe Soap who lives near the school playground gets off on child molestation charges. Paris Hilton is only the latest in this trend, she seems to show no respect for the authority of the law and gets away with it all the same; first her sentence was shortened and then she got released after only a few days (though that situation may change ...hopefully). What's the odds on Phil Spector and R Kelly getting off scott free too?

Celebrities act as though they are the royalty of the US, above the laws and regulations that us mere mortals are subject to. Is this the way you want your society to operate? I know status and wealth are cornerstones in a Capitalist regime but surely there must be equality in the eyes of the law.

It provides some people with an escape from their boring lives. They are willing to pay for it. I agree, most of what comes from there is pure crap.

Anyway, I hope the judge rules Paris has to go back into jail.

It really is rubbish, it's nothing but remakes and jingoistic 'war effort/war on terror' pseudo-propaganda nonsense these days. US independent, Asian and European films beat Hollywood hands down.

I hate celebrities. I hate the way they get off easy for everything. I hate people who love celebrities. I hate people who say celebrities have it tough. I hate people who admire celebrities. Celebrities should not be admired. I hate people who are into all the gossip of celebrities and buy into stupid tabloids.

There are some celebrities who are alright and use their "powers" for good, but for the most part they all suck. We need to assassinate the retarded, ridiculous, overhyped celebrities and their fans, starting with Paris Hilton.

Oh and the whole reason celebrities behave this way is because they know they can get away with it. Paris Hilton almost didn't get away with it and it would've been a blow to the celebrity mindset, but of course things change and she got off easy and the rest of the celebs heaved a sigh of relief.

This is true ...sad but true. It's just a pity Hollywood can't meet the high standards it set for itself in the 60's and 70's when the mainstream was as cutting edge as the independent scene is now. It's not even the special effects or production budgets that makes the difference, it's the advertising and distribution costs that the independent films can't compete with.

What with tabloids, and people who have no life, or want to do the cha cha with famous people thinking that will make them famous. Money too.
I have a theory that for each "star" they need to be in the spotlight a week or month to keep getting a check. Britney, drops off for a few months each year, then in any way she is tops in news, no matter how normal or how trailer trash she is. Madonna, same thing, don't hear about her then you got her and Jolie is trying to adopt kids from other countries. I could go on, but they are each the same, they start to fade away and have to do some stupid shit to get on the front page for at least a day to know they are still loved, alive and getting a check.
