So i just got myself GTA sa and some movies over ebay. Can i burn the GTA sa into another dvd so that i can use it instead of the original dvd? I dont want to spoil it. And is nero burning rom fine? Next, is there any software to rip my dvds so that i can watch it on my pc?
Google DVD decryptor. Download that and it'l rip the DVDs to ISO images onto your HD. Then google Daemon Tools and download/install that to mount the ISO images to (like a virtual CD/DVD-ROM) and play the DVDs like that. That's how I do and it works great if you got plenty of HD space for movies. But if you want to compress them, pretty much the best you can get for free is "DVD Shrink" which will compress the ISO image. Then you can mount that image just like the original ISO image. I've never tried it for PS2 games or anything, but you can try it. Doubt it'l work though.
hmm nah, it aint a ps2 game, its a pc edition
Or you could just find the image on GameCopyWorld and save the bother of burning the DVD. All you've got to do is get Daemon Tools then.T4rd wrote:

Oh, well to copy PC games, I use Nero. There's an option to "Create Image" or something to that effect. I usually just copy the CD image to my HD and use Daemon tools to mount the CD image and play the game without the actual CD in the drive. Then if you want to make a copy of the game onto another CD, just burn that image to a CD and you got an actual hard-copy of the game.
Hmm i am using nero burning rom and i just got my image but i have no idea where to click to copy to my blank dvd. oh yeah btw, does daemon tools screw up the vital data of the cd?

Yeah, I've used gamecopyworld for BF2 so I didn't have to have the CD loaded. That works good to if you want to save the space on your HD besides having the whole CD image on your HD. But if you ever want to re-install the game or anything, it's more convenient to that the whole game image on your HD so you don't have to hunt down the game CD or anything. I keep a notepad file with all my game keys too so I don't have to hunt the case/booklet down for the CD key too and just in case I lose them.buLLet_t00th wrote:

There should be a burning option called "burn image" or something like that. Select that, browse to the image you want to burn and burn it to the DVD/CD.Ayumiz wrote:

Be careful what version of DVD Decrypter you download. The author was forced to shut down development on it by the MPAA. LightningUK (the author) released a final version (3.5.4.0) and then turned everything over to the lawyers. Another version was released AFTER that with IP monitoring included by the MPAA. When you decrypt a DVD with this version it logs your IP and when you "check for a new version online" it uploads those logs to the MPAA. If you live in the US this could be a real legal problem thanks to the DMCA. Be sure to not use any version beyond 3.5.4.0.T4rd wrote:

DVDFabDecrypter is another option and it works quite well.
DVD Shrink is used to take a DVD9 (Dual layer DVD) and compress it (by re-encoding) into a single layer DVD5 disk. By far the best tool for the job.
For more information on this kind of thing check out the mother of all movie "how to backup" sites: Doom9 (www.doom9.net). Almost all the downloads are free versions that work 100%.
hmm i dont know whether my nero is old or not but it says compile a new cd and theres no option to choose for a dvd.T4rd wrote:
