My wireless internet is extremly laggy
using a lynksis wireless -g router
and a lynksis wireless g usb adapter
have sbcyahoo modem 1.5Mb/s connection (yes i know that sux)

Any help would be much apprechiated

mine sucks complete donkey bollocks, its supposed to be able up to 54mb internet (atm i have 8mb) but it seems unable to do more than 2mb at a time and is so damn laggy you would not believe

You might check the firmware level of the linksys -- some versions of the WRT54G have issues that are fixed in newer firmware releases.  [Basically there's a bug in the HW that involved a CPU/Mem bus conflict that's solved by changing the CPU clock in firmware.]  You should also check that you're actually getting a good signal, wireless adapters throttle down as the signal gets weaker.

I've been running a WRT54G with custom Linux firmware for a few years, and haven't had problems other than the above CPU/mem thing a couple years back.  With PCI based wireless, the wireless is generally within 2ms of wired ping times.  I don't have any experience with USB based Wifi adapters.

You would be better off with a pci card over a USB adapter. However I'm sure you know where the real problem is .

I have a PCI wireless and it is very fast. It actually is attached to my computer so it doesn't take up a PCI slot.
