iv been pouring over stats and opinions, getting reviews from my friends but i still cant decide. there are good and bad things about both systems so im having a tough trouble deciding what do you guys thing?

360 is superior to the PS3 in almost every aspect. However, if your current video card is aging that's also another possibility. But if your current card is doing fine, you could probably hold off.

ya i have a good card, its just the price dropped like $200 (canadian) and im thinking of doubling up
they're both good systems. It depends mostly on what you want to do with it. 360 seems to have a more efficient online system, but it costs money. you may want to consider the games each system offers and choose based on that. if you're into HD movies the PS3 comes standard with the player, the 360 is a $200 add-on.
ya im not really keen for the "xbox live pay per month" thing
I think the PS3 is still free online. but Gears of War is an awfully good game, so it Forza. PS3 still doesn't have a system selling game.
the only thing xbox has going for it is the games, wait until the middle of this year and ps3 will have just as many good games for it as xbox does for it. ps3 is 599.99 and it is a steep price sure and an xbox is 399.99. a ps3 has wi fi. xbox needs a 99.99 dollar upgrade. ps3 online is free and its 49.99 for an xbox live gold subscription. ps3 controllers have a rechargeable battery. xbox controllers with a rechargeable battery is 11.99. ps3 has a blu ray player in it. for the hd dvd expansion its 149.99 for it. so the ps3 is a grand total of 600 dollars and the xbox 360 is up to 700 dollars. the ps3 is a much better system too. go with the ps3 you wont be dissapointed.

I have a PS3 and I personally can't wait until Assassin's Creed, Lair, and The Darkness hit stores because they look so awesome.
360s can have too many problems. i have one friend who has sent back his 360 three times.
go for the 360.... the price of the ps3 is high, and the 360 graphics are nice + the xbox live is fkin awesome

Basically, if you want neat games for now, and a high chance that you'll get a few ring of deaths (4/5 of my friends with 360s have gotten at least one, one has had 3 so far and is just about to give up).. go for the 360.
If you want decent games now, a good system and awesome games later -- go for the PS3, I did, and I'm content
