There's been some controversy in my state over a new license plate design. Some call it religious endorsement because only registration fees are required to get it while others, such as the "Support Our Troops" plate, has an extra fee attached.

https://www.in.gov/bmv/plates/InGodWeTrust.jpg

Is this religious endorsement, along with the pricing too? I don't believe it is any more so than the ceremonial deism that is present on our currency since it doesn't specify in any specific sect or name a god.

Plate info here

Also, here are some articles about the lawsuits and whatnot:

My main complaint with that is that they've packed so much that the actual license number takes second (or third?) stage.

Its religious, especially when the actual license number is crammed to the side because of it.  Maybe if it were smaller, but honestly, I challenge you to go find ONE American who isnt retarded or mentally disabled who doesn't know the saying IN GOD WE TRUST.  It's like the car dealers who feel they need to put 80 by 80 foot flags over their parking lots in order to score some business.  Theres a line where "patriotic" becomes "nationalistic".  I dont need the god damn American flag spammed in my face 20 times a day, I think I know which country I've lived in my entire life by now.

Exactly, you Americans don't know mundane and to the point until you've visited Europe. However, when your numberplate is more mundane than the one of Germany's (as is ours), you know you've gone too far.

Still, the whole bumper sticker/we love jesus/i hate mexicans bumper stickers that you guys do isn't here either, the furthest we go is football teams and stuff. So you can say that we're overall 67% more boring than you guys.

Which is all very well and good if you aren't an atheist/polytheist.

Damn right, easy to read, no clutter, no risk of arguements/Jihads.

Especially in the UK, where any kind of pro-England or pro-any native religion will get a racism law suite slammed on you.

Its ok for other religions to come here illegally and take over entire cities, building mosques, and taking massive benefits, but you try waving a St Georges Cross in our own capital city....

Actually you can have the UK flag on your car.

You can have the flag on your plate, (EU, pfffft) but at risk of having your car seriously fucked up in a lot of places in the UK.  Hardly worth the risk.

I'm a NW indiana resident and I can relate. When asked if they could provide me with a plate that said "In secular Govt. We Trust", the heavyset woman at the DMV almost shit herself with disgust. -1 karma to the Indiana DMV

Wow, is it really that bad over there? I dont really know the situation but I would have to say you guys need to toughen your laws the fuck up. And really, jail sentences of 10 days or stupid shit like that dont really mean much. You wanna make a person think first, then its money, death, or a long time.

Name the last American President who didn't claim to be of the Christian faith please.

Edit.

I'm serious. I want somebody here to point me in the right direction of a non-christian President of the USA, a name would be great as would hyperlinks to sources...

Why doesn't some full out atheist run for office at least then? Surely if they don't get a majority of votes, the country must be bigoted against them.
