That sniper looks like a really old PTRS AT rifle. Modified and rebelised abit.

It would make more sense, an old Russian WW2 rifle. Fires 14.5 x 114 rounds which, quite frankly, own .50 BMG (12.7 × 99) rounds.

I don't think it's a PTRS.  PTRS looks to be gas operated and that gun was a bolt gun.  Which would mean that there would be this very anoying hole in the middle of the barrel, if they did manage to convert it to a bolt gun, where very high pressure hot gases would be flying out.  ANd welding on a barrel to fill that hole is one of the biggest no no's you could possibly do.

TBH I'm not sure it's as big a gun as we think, the picture makes it kind of hard to get a feel for the dimensions, but it could just be a 7.62x54R.
