yes, without a doubt.
Where would you move to? It's highly unlikely that you'd be granted citizenship in any foreign country. You'd be stuck in equally bad conditions in a refugee camp in a neighbouring country. Do have any idea how long people have been living in the refugee camps around Palestine?

So you plan on living in equally squalid and unsafe conditions (especially with situations like in Lebanon recently with Fatah al Islam), allowing your homeland to be stolen from you so you have nowhere to return to and are at the mercy of the international asylum system?

Great plan. I can really see you've thought this one through.
and what would you do instead?
think it through of course...

There's a great difference between a government (one head) that has been annexing territories, oppressing millions of people and conducting terrorist policies, and a bunch of terrorists and extremists who don't belong to any government.  Both are wrong, but state sponsored terrorism is worse.  I don't generalize because I criticize the actions of ONE government, and not the actions of millions of Israelis.  I'm sure most Israelis want peace.  But you, with your little joke, are assuming that most Palestinians are terrorists.

let me get this point across,
yes, i come from a peacful and safe country where since the WWII, the communist insurgency (1950s) and the racial riots of the 1960s we have had peace. so i may not know much about civil war, internal strife and civil disorder.

so when i say i move move away if i was palestinian, thats from my values i've grown up with.

to those who leer at the fact that i would leave my homeland for a better life please take a look at yourself first.
until you have firsthand experience in bearing arms and killing people to protect your way of life/ family from your very doorstep ( not going off to fight in a war thousands of miles from your own home) and seen your own fmily members killed, i call BS to your high and mighty notion to staying and fighting the good fight. while you are safely typing from the security of your nice warm home and ample food to eat.

come face to face with that situation then tell me, and you will have my respect and i would be humbled in your presence.

The Ghandi school of terrorism! this is what wins eventually.  The Saturday after the Omagh bomb here. In every single City/Town/Village on the Island of Ireland, everyone just walked out of houses/businesses/factories/shops etc. etc. and stood silently on the streets for 15 minutes.  It was one of the most powerful movements of the people i've ever witnessed in my life.  That silence sent a deafening message to the terrorists and it stopped (pretty much). As Ghandi said "we must make the injustice visible to those who cannot see it."

as long as they don´t realize, that they have their fate in their own hands - nothing will ever change. now they are fighting each others in the Gaza strip - they don´t even need Israelis to let their people die unnecessarily...

they need to work on a civil society and should realize that even small steps to independence and democracy are worth the effort..

they won´t succeed, when they fight the Israelis and themselves.

Who's talking about going anywhere? The point being made was about what to do in the Palestinians shoes. I am not Palestinian, I have not been a victim of the Israeli ethnic cleansing and expulsion programme, I'm not going anywhere.

History has shown peaceful protest to be amongst the most powerful diplomatic tools available, particularly in the face of a powerful agressor such as Israel. I don't see how your link is relevant within this context.

Don't take offence. You're entitled to your opinion. This a forum however and on the forum we respond to each others opinions, that's what it's all about.
no offense taken. although a bit miffed by jahmanred.
Why? Because I draw comparisons from my and my countries experiences to put myself in shoes of a Palestinians?

It was quite normal for ppl to be abducted from the streets and tortured for days before being dumped in a hole in the ground. Kids as young as 14 were executed for their religion and my Parents didn't leave Ireland through fear of me being killed. And trust me, I would wish myself or my children killed quickly by a bomb strapped to their belly, over being shot and allowed to bleed to death, or have a power drill go to work on them.
My parents didn't run, does that make them bad parents? Like as you say the Palestinians are?
I know I am again drawing comparisons, but I can put myself in a Palestinians shoes much easier buy referring to my own countries problems than most.

No need to get miffed by me.

After 3 pages we can conclude most people would feel the same way the Palestinians do.

and we can conclude, that their is still no solution, when the palestinians themselve don´t become a part of it... i´ve seen an interview where palestinians said, that they felt safer under israeli occupation - wtf?
