It easy to tell who can play and who cant when youre in the same server. If i see a private with a 2+ kd i assume its a second account, but until they prove themselves i usually regard them as noobs.ThomasMorgan wrote:

I play a LOT of hours and it took me a long time to figure stuff out. In fact it's only recenlty I've started to realize half my deaths are just due to my being stupid or careless. I've also realized some of the players I know that have great KDRs have such because I follow them around reviving their a** when they get killed or throwing them medic packs when they have a couple bars of health left.
When I first started playing I'd be happy to get a revive & a heal point with every death. Now I want at least 5-6 points (including at least one kill) for every death. (Yeah, I know most of my stats still suck.)
My KDR was about .25 when I learned about KDR, SPM and some of the other Stats that really gauge individual performance IMHO. It's taken work but I've raised it to .60 and am hoping to make it to .8 - .9 in another 2 months of play maybe even get it up to 1 LOL. (Unless I become hooked on QW:ET).
Seeing how many cheaters there are or people who's started their 2nd account, it`s impossible to judge skill level by rank.
Also some people rise through ranks quicker than others. It depends on what kits and what maps you play.
My score/hr is about 96. The way i play i can`t really see there`s gonna be a huge difference, even with more chopper/jet skills.

Null vote; for me there's no telling really. I've seen amazing players who play as a team and absolutely love the game and they're privates or other low ranks. Then I've seen majors and generals who completely suck, bitch and moan all the time, and do nothing for the team.
My shortcoming is that at a low rank a year and a half ago I could hit anything with the TV missile from any range. And now when I gun I can barely hit anything I dunno what happened to me.t0mhank5 wrote:

Are you classing a noob as
1) a player who doesnt know anything i.e is new to the game?
2) a bad player? i.e camper, spawn raper, etc
3) a player who doesnt work for the team?
If its the first one then K/D ratio is best indicator rather than rank.
If its the second one, then K/D and rank have nothing to do with it. The player will be a noob whatever rank or K/D they have
Same goes for the third one.
One thing is for sure, I would rather play with an inexperienced player who is willing to team play than than a player who will fly you in a heli to the red zone and kill you just to solo an attack helo.

I reckon I'd be only just edging my way out of noobdom - I'm a gunnery sgt and my stats have only recently moving slowly in the right direction.
What I think of myself:
My accuracy is good (I think - is 25% good?)
I only have one purple heart (maybe too cautious).
I have some good days in the gunners seat but mostly bad.
I love shooting helos out of the sky with a main gun (becoming more regular now).
I'm ok with AT but I give my life too easily.
I start ok doing medic for a squad and then get super busy. Sometimes get too caught up fighting when I should be healing.
I'm a great driver but it's the sudden stop at the end that kills me.
